Always Dress for Success
[Guest post by DRJ]
A New York City man arrested on robbery charges escaped Wednesday from a Manhattan courthouse after he was mistaken for an attorney:
“[Ronald] Tackman was brought to court from the Rikers Island jail Wednesday for an appearance on a string of robbery charges.
He had been wearing a business suit when a court officer spotted him and mistook him for an attorney.”
Tackman was spotted exiting a bus on Thursday and taken back into custody. The New York Post has Tackman’s photo and more on his flamboyant criminal history.

They only realized he wasn’t an attorney when they realized that they could see his reflection in a mirror.
Thank you, I’ll be here all week.
Tip your waitresses.
JayC (722349) — 10/2/2009 @ 9:28 pmOnly way they realized he wasn’t an attorney was when someone bumped into him in the hallway and he didn’t threaten to sue…
Scott Jacobs (d027b8) — 10/2/2009 @ 9:30 pmIt wasn’t the business suit that fooled them.
It was when he threatened to sue everyone for their last penny if they tried to stop him. That plus he told everyone he was a friend of Al Sharpton.
They knew he wasn’t an attorney when he got on a bus instead of into a late model Mercedes.

This is news?
Gesundheit (254807) — 10/3/2009 @ 5:51 amIt’s all about self esteem. Years ago, in my misspent youth, I worked the booking desk at the county jail. One day they brought in an alleged perpetrator (a little cop talk there) who was accused of impersonating a reserve police officer. Defiantly a self esteem problem there, as he could not even raise his horizons enough to impersonate a real police officer.

Yeah, I can see that happening. I really can.
Socratease (01a423) — 10/3/2009 @ 10:00 amSorry for the OT, but has anyone seen this article about the all-time champ for self-hating Jew?
(If this is true, the source being a British newspaper, after all.)
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad revealed to have Jewish past
Brother Bradley J. Fikes, C.O.R. (0ea407) — 10/3/2009 @ 11:19 amA photograph of the Iranian president holding up his identity card during elections in March 2008 clearly shows his family has Jewish roots.
A close-up of the document reveals he was previously known as Sabourjian – a Jewish name meaning cloth weaver.
The short note scrawled on the card suggests his family changed its name to Ahmadinejad when they converted to embrace Islam after his birth.
The Sabourjians traditionally hail from Aradan, Mr Ahmadinejad’s birthplace, and the name derives from “weaver of the Sabour”, the name for the Jewish Tallit shawl in Persia. The name is even on the list of reserved names for Iranian Jews compiled by Iran’s Ministry of the Interior. . . .
