Quote of the Day
[Guest post by DRJ]
Jim Geraghty at NRO’s Campaign Spot highlights this quote from Joe Biden’s “rousing review of the government’s economic stimulus plan in a conversation with the nation’s governors:”
“In my wildest dreams, I never thought it would work this well.”
After noting that Nevada’s Office of Energy received $35 million and created 3 jobs, Geraghty quipped: “Apparently Biden’s wildest dream was that the $35 million would create two jobs.”

The question really is whether Biden is naturally stupid, or if it is the inevitable outcome for someone who has spent his entire adult life in Washington politics.

DRJ (b008f8) — 9/27/2009 @ 6:53 pmOn the Fox Sunday show today, Krauthammer called Biden “The Sage of Providence,” when he recalled his plan to break up Iraq into three separate countries. Always remember, Palin was the idiot.
Dmac (b905fa) — 9/27/2009 @ 7:04 pmNow, don’t pick on poor Joe. He can’t help himself.

Nor does it appear that he can help us. A thoroughly useless man.
JVW (d1215a) — 9/27/2009 @ 7:44 pmIts no longer in doubt, Joe Biden will do down in history as the stupidest Vice President in US history.
SPQR (26be8b) — 9/27/2009 @ 7:53 pmGiven the way history is written these days, Palin may be remembered as the stupidest Vice President … despite the fact she is neither stupid nor Vice President.
DRJ (b008f8) — 9/27/2009 @ 8:07 pmIts no longer in doubt, Joe Biden will do down in history as the stupidest Vice President in US history.
In all fairness, SPQR, wouldn’t he have to become the modern equivalent of a communist sympathizer if he were to compete with Henry Agard Wallace for that distinction?
I would say, though, that Biden is definitely the most oafish VP we have ever had.

Biden is the perfect bookend to the sorriest President in US history. Tweedledum and Tweedledee.
tmac (5559f7) — 9/28/2009 @ 4:51 amSo basically if what Biden says is true, the Obama administration was lying when they promised unemployment would never hit 8% if the stimulus bill was passed. So they were lying then or they’re lying now. Or both, as DRJ noted.
Sean P (da7912) — 9/28/2009 @ 6:03 amJoe also said that the $787B stimulus “saved” one million jobs. If you do the math, that’s $787,000 per job! I’m personally offering the Obama Administration a better deal. If they give me free money, I’ll create jobs for only $500,000 each. They could either create or save more jobs or keep the change.
