James O’Keefe Interview

Filed under: Politics — DRJ @ 2:26 pm

[Guest post by DRJ]

The snarky New York Times has interviewed “political gadfly” James E. O’Keefe III, one of the principal players in the ACORN videos. According to the Times, O’Keefe met Hannah Giles through Facebook and it was Giles’ idea to target ACORN. O’Keefe was doubtful it would work since “I’m a skinny nerd, the least convincing pimp in the world.”

O’Keefe has a history of political lampoons including this infamous expose in which Planned Parenthood accepted donations to abort black babies:

  1. O’Keefe did the ‘black abortion’ sting too?

    Dude’s amazing.

  2. My feeling is that it’s racist for Planned Parenthood to solicit funds specifically for the aborting of little black babies.

  3. A major part of abortion philosophy for some is the ability to remove ‘unwanted’ children from the earth. It’s not unknown that blacks unfortunately have a problem with fatherlessness and unwanted children, and have many abortions. This is, after all, what Planned Parenthood was originally meant to do to minorities.

Eugenics, killing very young babies, robbing Peter to pay Paul. These are utilitarian consequences. They are the triumph of government over morality.

Amazing indeed. Knew about that great PP sting but didn’t know he’d done that. Also affirmative action bake sales at university and a successful ban on racist Lucky Charms at UCLA. LOL Dude’s my new hero.

  5. From the Times:

caught its low-level employees in five cities sounding eager to assist with tax evasion, human smuggling and child prostitution.

You see, it has nothing to do with ACORN’s organizational structure or mission, and the high level organizers (like Obama) wouldn’t approve of this sort of thing. Besides, the ‘low level’ employees only sounded like they were eager to help with human smuggling and child prostitution. Nothing to see here! Please disperse!

    More Times:

What began as a firestorm on conservative talk shows spread across the news media and to both parties in Congress, as Mr. O’Keefe and Ms. Giles unveiled videos of more cities where Acorn workers had misbehaved.

Spread across the news media? Sort of like a cannonball spreads across the deck of a ship – those barbary pirates in it’s path became interested in that cannonball and decided to ride along. How about the reason O’Keefe and Giles chose to unveil said videos over time? How about quoting Breitbart’s explanation that they knew that the top-level ACORN employees would lie about the problem?

Not if your the dishonest NY Times, who prints unquestioningly a quote from the ‘good friend’ of O’Keefe:

Asked whether the left-leaning documentaries of Michael Moore do not do the same, Ms. Farkas said: “Michael Moore goes after the rich and powerful. James isn’t doing that. He goes after low-level bureaucrats and people who are trying to help low-income people.”

Help low income poor people? Seriously? Like underage El Salvadoran girls, ordinary taxpayers and grassroots political opponents of someone who has plans to use illegal prostitution profits to outspend his opponents in a run for office?

Is the NY Times really this stupid?
Or do they just hate poor people?

  6. There is a black minister who has estimated something like 30 million black babies aborted in this country. The number of black pregnancies aborted is over 60%. Margaret Sanger would be so proud.

    Mike K (2cf494)

  7. Margaret Sanger, and the Eugenics Movement, were part and parcel components of the early Progressive Movement in America.

  8. It’s interesting to watch Bertha Lewis clearly misrepresent and intentionally take out of context Mr. O’Keefe’s conversation with the PP employee regarding money going toward abortions for blacks. Surely she is no that ignorant and willfully attempt to smear his motives and purpose. (It’s the same thing she accuses O’Keefe and Giles of doing… I wonder if she caught that…).

    Dana (863a65)

  9. She is the criminal ringleader of a criminal organization, Bertha Lewis is. She probably lies many times every day while she’s taking care of her criminal business and such. I mean jeez she’s head of an organization that supports child prostitution. That’s uncommonly sleazy even for criminals.

    happyfeet (6b707a)

  10. I believe O’Keefe was also involved with the Lila Rose sting operation with Planned Parenthood, which was a multi-office operation exposing PP’s willingness to evade legal responsibilities in reporting statutory rape.

  11. You’re correct, daley, here is the LAT.

Irony alert: “Laurie Rubiner, vice president for public policy and advocacy for Planned Parenthood Federation of America, said it is a violation of the organization’s policy to tell a young woman to lie about the age of a father. The well-being of patients, she said, is paramount.

    Heh.

    Dana (863a65)

  12. And remember, all of these “non-profit”, NGO’s, are doing this on our (the taxpayer’s) dime, through grants from their friends in Congress – this is one area that Newt wimped-out, in not cutting off the Congressional Spigot to all of the non-profits that have been funded by the Dems since the McGovern-Wing took over the party in the late-60’s, early-70’s. And, this includes the National Endowment for the Arts, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, and a few more semi-governmental sinecures for Libs.

AD – Or through corporate shake-downs, aka extortion, which, if you own stock, directly, through a mutual fund or in a retirement account managed by a third party you should be pissed as shit about.

  16. The NYT missed a chance.

They should have asked him how to do journalism.

  21. I must be missing something here, but I thought the NYT’s article was very fair and informative. I put this down not to the Times but rather to the journalist who wrote up the piece. If all articles in the Times were as ‘fair’, perhaps it would not be the moral sinkhole it has turned out to be.

Credit where it’s due and all that.

  22. I opened my awesome Sunday edition of the NYT and found not ONE MENTION of the Acorn scandal in their entire first news section. Even my wife is starting to understand the inane hypocricy of the rag – even funnier is their long article on Edward’s possible appearance in court regarding the paternity standing of his baby with Reille. Ooooh, they really are all over that one, huh? Only about a year too late, while splashing a direct lie about McCain’s alleged lobbyist affair in the heat of the election was just a lapse in judgement.

  23. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg stated in an NY Times interview earlier this year ideas very much in line with Margeret Sanger’s original intent.

    http://www.standfirminfaith.com/index.php/site/article/23941/

Q: If you were a lawyer again, what would you want to accomplish as a future feminist legal agenda?

JUSTICE GINSBURG: Reproductive choice has to be straightened out. There will never be a woman of means without choice anymore. That just seems to me so obvious. The states that had changed their abortion laws before Roe [to make abortion legal] are not going to change back. So we have a policy that affects only poor women, and it can never be otherwise, and I don’t know why this hasn’t been said more often.

Q: Are you talking about the distances women have to travel because in parts of the country, abortion is essentially unavailable, because there are so few doctors and clinics that do the procedure? And also, the lack of Medicaid for abortions for poor women?

JUSTICE GINSBURG: Yes, the ruling about that surprised me. [Harris v. McRae — in 1980 the court upheld the Hyde Amendment, which forbids the use of Medicaid for abortions.] Frankly I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of. So that Roe was going to be then set up for Medicaid funding for abortion. Which some people felt would risk coercing women into having abortions when they didn’t really want them. But when the court decided McRae, the case came out the other way. And then I realized that my perception of it had been altogether wrong.

  24. The armies of the left are nothing more than criminals, degenerates, the mentally challenged and largest group — those living on the Public Tru$t.

    Frankly,few decent citizens vote democrat.

This is why a vote for a Liberal is a Vote for destroying the USA. Their only goal is to gain power by stealing from a few to bribe the many while using the Democratic System to achieve un-democratic goals.

I keep saying they need to eradicated politically and I am 100% certain they would do the same if given the chance.

This administration has the feel of Castro’s Cuba in 1959. Lots of feel good rhetoric about “fairness” but little in terms of realistic policies to promote the General Welfare, just class warfare.
