You should really never apologize for saying what you really mean; if you mean what you say, have the <i>cojones</i> to stand by it! And if Mr Jones finds out that he has resigned from his position, I suspect that he will have meant his [<i>insert plural slang term for the sphincter here</i>] comment even more!

How can one say they didn't hear what Reverend Wright believed and said after 20 yrs, was too young to know about William Ayres (neighbors I think as well as Tony Rezko) and now wondering what he is going to say about Van Jones? I didn't believe him when the Reverend Wright story came out and he sure isn't getting my ear after finding out about Van Jones. Do you notice one thing in common between the two? Van Jones apologizes and states he didn't read the petition very well and of course who read the healthcare bill before trying to get that approved before anyone could object? Can all these people popping out of nowhere not really know each other and has this ever happened in the US before and if so, believe me, we would have heard about it. Where is the Republican leadership or they too afraid to risk it all and stand up and demand answers? Or have we lost the backbone to question? Do we just sit back and hope this isn't really what is smack dab in our faces? When I say God bless America, I really really mean it. Last time I checked we were a christian nation. What is this we aren't? Remember what our founding fathers meant when this country was founded. Do not forget what America stands for and never ever lose your voice. It is vital especially now.

This is why the Senate has "advise and consent" oversight of cabinet officers.

How long will they sit still for having their constitutional prerogatives bypassed in such a transparent way?

That racist crap is getting old and is becoming a smokescreen to what is truth and what is a lie. Glenn Beck didn't say it, Van Horn did. The advertisers who bailed won't be getting my buck because if they think that Glenn is a Hater then I suppose those people don't need the millions and millions of those who agree with Mr. Beck. So I suppose if you want to call Glenn a racist you have that right as well as I have to call Van Jones one also. Now the bottom line is do the advertisers stand for the American people and the truth or do they think they can get by with the few that believe a lie and bottom out?

I read a statement from a person on another blog stating why do people judge a person for their personal beliefs rather than on the merit of their work? Is that the thinking of the people in America? Reputation is everything. Do you think anyone would ever elect or hire anyone with a past like Van Jones and expect "I apologize" to be sufficient. We are talking about the highest office in the World people. What the hell is Van Jones doiing in the Whitehouse? Demand an answer? He signed that petition and he didn't read what it actually was insinuating? Would he be hired in a job like you or me and get away with that one? If he is that irresponsible, do you trust this man to lead in the whitehouse? From what I am reading he was associated with Appollo and there is much more. I guess you and I couldn't get a job in the whitehouse as my resume can't produce anything unsavory so I would be turned away I suppose

Just checked the LA Slimes... Only mention of Van Jones over the past 5 years was Matea Gold's recent (8/25) account of <a href="URL of the Web page to go to" rel="nofollow">"Glenn Beck blasts boycott group's co-founder".</a> In her article, which features only 2 links, one to Van Jones' "Color of Change" group and the other to the White House announcement of Jones's hiring, Gold by selective quoting and emphasis pretty much lets your typical Times reader know that Beck is a hater, and probably a racist, for going after Jones (whose group led the boycott against Beck). <i>"Reporting from New York - Fox News host Glenn Beck used his popular show Monday to attack the background of Van Jones, a White House environmental advisor and co-founder of an African American political advocacy group that organized an advertising boycott of his program."</i> The apparently Google-adverse or selective Gold, I guess, gives Jones a pass on all his previous activities. It's not like an actual thinking person would think that Jones was a "radical", it's that Glenn Beck thinks he's "radical."
