I don't really care about how someone says the words of fascism, I only care about the words themselves.

“I don’t want the folks who created the mess to do a lot of talking. I want them just to get out of the way so we can clean up the mess. I don’t mind cleaning up after them but don’t do a lot of talking.”

Look, I want Barney Frank to shut up as much as the next guy, but I don't think the President should be the one saying who should or shouldn't be talking.

Yesterday, Obama basically told those who disagree with him (the "folks who created this mess that he has to clean up") to STFU and get the hell out of his way--and doan be doin' no talkin' now!

Cam you imagine the flame coming out of the NYT's editorial page if Bush had ever told his opponents to STFU? What happened to the "dissent is the highest form of patriotism" pablum that they were passing out. Didn't Barack get the memo?

I can't recall anything as fascist as this in recent American history; you have to go back to Earl Warren and FDR putting the Japanese in internment camps in WW II--maybe Huey Long in Louisiana--or Atttorney General Palmer and his raids on immigrants or suspected Communists under Woodrow Wilson. With the exception of Earl Warren, everyone of these people was a Democrat.

Yesterday's statement by Obama was a black stain on his record and a disgrace to the office of the President.

Why can't he just grow a pair instead of blaming someone who had a couple?

You know what? He did, indeed, inherit trouble. So fix it and stop whining about the ones who caused it.

That could get him re-elected.

But, he can't. Nothing can tarnish the shiny, gold-plated armor of the one who sees the light.

I really wish that our first African-American president was something more than the toady of the white, liberal establishment.

I think President Obama is just looking around the world to see what works.

The background of Obama is pretty much in alignment with that of any garden-variety ultra-liberal. I'd say he's not as extreme as Hugo Chavez but his sentiments likely hover around those of someone like the ex-president of Honduras, Manuel Zelaya.

His faux black/southern accent drives me crazy.

I've never understood those people who find Obama beguiling, referring to his so-called charisma, which is, after all, greatly dependent on a person's speech patterns. When Obama starts talking and getting passionate, his vocal qualities remind me of a "black dude." That may be okay for someone from the world of Hollywood or the world of sports -- or from some two-bit city hall in the Rust Belt -- but it doesn't convey wisdom, integrity or dignity to me.

Imagine how unmessed things would be if we just didn’t spend any government money.

[note: fished from spam filter]

Isn't catch and release a much more humane and politically accepted act? Not that I'm much for politically acceptable anything. And it's not that I am against all this government spending. It's more I don't think they should have much of it to spend in the first place, much less borrowing it.
