This vid is all over the web in just the past 24 hours – amazing how quickly something like this can be disseminated today.
Comment by Dmac (e6d1c2) — 7/24/2009 @ 2:55 pm
LOL – thanks DRJ!

The UPS guy told me about it today when he dropped a package at the office. 10 minutes later it was in my inbox.
Frankly, if it happened in my church the wedding party would make their way to the front and find that there was no pastor to conduct the ceremony.

“amazing how quickly something like this can be disseminated…”
Yes, and it will also be amazing how quickly it will be imitated – with people trying to top it. Apparently it hasn’t been enough to have wedding in bowling alleys, while skydiving, while scuba diving, by web cam, etc. etc. etc.

Picturing a retro 70′s wedding where everyone is line dancing the Hustle! Or Retro 80′s with everyone wearing flower pots on their head coming in to one of Devo’s songs….

Thanks for the humor, DRJ. Really hilarious.

So many fat guys in one place.

I think we need a statement by Henry Gates about the racism implicit in white people thinking they can dance.
Then the President can weigh in on this topic.
Seriously, that video was like watching a slow motion car crash.

That was fantastic! Weddings should be joyful and fun!

Hi, Nancy!

Nancy #10: and devoid of rhythm.
But hey, they looked like they were having a good time, and that ought to be the point. The guy walking on his hands, though….I thought, this is taking place before the drinking!
Comment by Eric Blair (0b61b2) — 7/24/2009 @ 4:26 pm
i’m absolutely amazed: who would ever expect our very own DRJ to be a moron?
/me passes over the Val-u-Rite

It was a Louisiana wedding, there may have been a little drinking first. My daughter sent this to me, the photographer who took it did her son’s wedding last year. It was a great Cajun wedding but nothing like this video.

I’ll cop to that and great link, redc1c4.

Why all the mean comments? Was your wedding on utube? They had fun and they were creative. Overweight or offbeat, they were joyous. I would love to go to a wedding like that instead of the many snoozefests that I’ve been obligated to go to. Instead of complaining about imitation, I pray for it.

Well, there has been enough nay saying here. I think this is absolutely beautiful. It is a celebration of your love…the way it should be. And your friends are gong to be a great part of this romance! Kudo’s to you both and best wishes from Ohio!
Comment by Deb (828012) — 7/25/2009 @ 5:12 am
Eric, I was thinking of my own wedding which was fraught with in-law-fueled tension, thus making my husband and me pretty joyless on what should have been the happiest day in our lives.
Comment by Nancy (1276be) — 7/25/2009 @ 7:18 am
Whoops, sorry. Hi, Mike!

It made me cry too.
Who does not want to dance and to love forever after seeing this joyous wedding?
Comment by Patricia (48ec63) — 7/25/2009 @ 8:36 am
A friend of mine got hitched a year and a half ago.
The groom and his men all walked in to the the Star Wars Throne Room theme. All but one of them was wearing their military uniforms so it was pretty badass. And also really rather nerdy.

My parents eloped. My wife and I eloped — I told my father the next day and he called my father-in-law. My second brother and his wife eloped — he didn’t bother to tell anyone, we found out when we went to his house to see him and found his wife living there. My baby brother got married in a fancy Nassau County country club. There were limos for the guests. A band in the hors d’ouvres room, another in the dinner room, and one more for dancing. My mother got to wear an evening gown for the first time in her life. That made up for us two older ones, I guess.

How wonderfully joyful! Dancing is common throughout the world as a way of celebration. Their efforts epitomize everything joyful, and has the attendees joining in by clapping. So much fun, so many smiles, so much love.
I envy them.

Hey, DRJ, thanks for the link and story. I was feeling down today. If I get married again, it is going to be a PARTY like this wedding was. Oh, is there a UTube of grandma boogeying up the aisle? Love to see it! OLD FOLKS AREN’T DEAD, just old.
After watching that, all that keeps running through my head is using some Zydeco music for the wedding ‘March’.
I’ll have to talk to my pastor about this. I go to a contemporary Southern Baptist church. I’m sure Rex, my pastor, would be up for this, if not on the drum kit for the music.

bhead you are a scummy moron. Anyone who could look at such a heart warming and fun video of a what should be the happiest moment so far in Jill and Kevin’s life and say they “can’t wait for the divorce soundtrack” deserves to be punched right in the face. Why would you say this? Are you hoping these two have pain and sadness in their lives? Is this what get’s you off? If you EVER have the balls to come to Brooklyn, NY write to me at Islandersb-at-aol.com and I will meet you ANYWHERE and punch you so hard in your face that when you wake up your driver’s license will have a black eye. This is coming from a person who never met Jill and Kevin and hope that when they have children they make an even nicer video.
[John - Tone it down, okay? I agree it's a nice video. Let's focus on that and ignore the critics. -- DRJ]

I agree and will but I ask HOW could their be ANY critcs on such a beuatiful production?
Comment by John (996c34) — 7/27/2009 @ 9:27 am
WOW. That is the best feel good video I have ever watched. The all look so happy. I I would love to spend the rest of my days in a place like they were in during the video. Thanks for making me smile
Comment by JohnD (22800f) — 7/28/2009 @ 1:14 pm
Can they dance? Who cares. This video made me smile. I have photographed so many weddings and everyone of them (the ceremonies), including my own, was cold and boring. I can only assume that Jill and Kevin are fun people to be around.

Can you believe Fox News Channel reports the Kevin Heinz (the groom) was wearing a cast on his foot the day they got married.

It’s a fun celebration. That’s part of what a wedding is — along with the solemn vows. Enjoy the ceremony which contains joy and sobriety.

I found quite a few videos of “dancing weddings” out on the internet. Some of the first dances caused my daughter to make a face and say “Scary”.
I have to show my other daughter the one by the Lees. A Korean-American couple who definitely know how to “pop and lock”. Their dance was very beautiful.
One other couple did everything except the Foxtrot.
One forgettable one was a skinny white couple dancing to Sir Mix-a-Lot’s “Baby got back”!
