Guns In Texas

This Austin story seems to be a case from the department of just rewards:
“Kelly Roan, 28, and his girlfriend might have gotten away with multiple burglaries, police say, if he hadn’t shot himself in the foot, literally.”
Meanwhile, in Houston, this case just seems sad:
“A woman accused in the shooting death of her common-law husband told police her gun accidentally fired while they were playing a game of “dirty cowboy” during sexual foreplay, a Harris County prosecutor said.”
Preliminary reports suggest neither shooter was legally in possession of his/her gun.

That’s unreal but it’s too real at the same time, the dirty cowboy thing.

According to the article, she was also 8 months pregnant. I’m glad this happened before the baby came. Hopefully someone responsible will be able to take care of it. Just rewards indeed.

All the NRA training and refresher courses I’ve ever attended have stressed the importance of unloading your weapon before playing Dirty Cowboy.

DRJ – Echoing some of the other comments, up North, we always take the bullets out of the gun before playing Dirty Cowboy. Are the rules different in Texas?

That always bothered me about “Once Upon A Time In The West”, that it was the bad guy (Frank/Henry Fonda) who got the girl (Jill/Claudia Cardinale) and not the good guys (Harmonica/Charles Bronson or Cheyenne/Jason Robards).

Have you ever seen an article refer to someone’s “statutory husband”? A spouse is a spouse, but common-law is frequently used to imply an oddity.
