Oh, no. I’m so sorry.
DRJ (cdbef5) — 6/22/2009 @ 6:44 pmThat is terribly bad news.
SPQR (26be8b) — 6/22/2009 @ 6:49 pmBeldar – I do not know you, but I like you and respect you. You and your family will be in my family’s prayers.
JD (f2604b) — 6/22/2009 @ 7:00 pmBeldar, your blog name never fails to make me smile. I have read many of your posts here and on your own blog. You are one of the “good guys,” whether or not we agree on every philosophical plank.
But beyond politics, I sorrow for the loss of your father. I was warmed by the description of your father’s life, and my guess is that he didn’t consider his accomplishments all that unusual—though they were. What a life—making a difference in so many ways. I can only imagine your pride at being his son, and your sadness at his loss.
Time ticks on for all of us, and we often don’t realize the importance of family and friends around us. You clearly did, and do. As for me, I am going to call my own father and tell hiim that he is, and will always be, a hero to me.
Please accept my condolences, and prayers for you and your extended family.

DCSCA (9d1bb3) — 6/22/2009 @ 7:19 pmBeldar, I’m truly sorry for your loss. Your blog post described to me a strong, brave, accomplished, and well-loved man. That is all any of us can hope for in our existence, and it is reflected in your good character.

Hang in there. Hopefully your dad is looking down and saying, See the good son I Have and he’s enjoying the hereafter.
