Lakers Win Game 7

Filed under: Sports — DRJ @ 3:53 pm

[Guest post by DRJ]

I confess, I didn’t watch any of the Rockets-Lakers series. (I’m boycotting professional games for a while in favor of my first love, college and high school sports.) But I feel an obligation to post this since it’s one of those rare Texas-California sports matchups where the California team comes out on top.

The Lakers will take on the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday in Game 1 of the Finals.

  2. Which team has the most alledged rapists? Since I know nothing about basketball that is the one I’d pick to win.

    Reminds me of a movie….

Agent Cedric: [sidling up to Blindman] Know any good white basketball players?
Blindman: There are no good white basketball players.

  6. damn..I hope no one thinks I’m implying that black basketball players are alleged rapists.

(I shouldn’t have to explain myself, but you know someone’s goint to make an issue of it.)

  7. I thought that LA and Cleveland would be the best Finals match-up, but I now have serious doubts, if a Houston team without T-Mac and Yao could take LA to 7 games. Houston should be commended for their heart and effort.

  8. There was a time when you couldn’t be a true Texan unless you were nuts about high school football.

  9. tmac, that is STILL the case, although, when you get beyond 60 and your grandkids aren’t in highschool sports yet you are allowed a temporary pass.

  11. tmac,

I think that’s still true … at least it is where I live.

  12. Last trip to Texas, I visited a high school football stadium that seats 15,000+. The city only has approx 3000 people.
