I may not be posting this weekend. JRM has promised to step in with a post or two, and you never know when you’ll hear from Jack Dunphy or Karl, both of whom have popped in once or twice in recent days — something I have been very pleased to see.

  1. Enjoy your weekend.

  3. Well, with DRJ having retired and you off for the weekend, might I suggest that Al Martinez is looking for work?

I am so proud of Republicans for opposing this disaster of a Democratic “stimulus” plan! It is more of a big honkin pork roll sandwich. Do the right thing–fight this. No compromise at this point. Better the bill die and both parties start over. If the GOP votes 100% against this the GOP can block it with a Filibuster in the Senate.

Hold the Line! Hold the Line! Hold the Line!

  8. The Judd Gregg maneuver is the next front to be opened. Gregg is a very good senator from New Hampshire. I had some dealings with his staff when I was at Dartmouth and he is valuable. Obama is trying to interest him in becoming Sec Commerce, a dead end in this socialist administration. Apparently, they are harassing Gregg in New Hampshire trying to convince him that re-election will be difficult and nasty so maybe he should bail out. Of course, that reduces the Senate GOP contingent by one as NH has a Democrat governor. The tax refugees move to NH from Taxachusetts and then votes for the same lefties they fled.

Here’s hoping he sticks it out.

  9. Michael Steele has been voted to be RNC Chair.

  10. Nancy Pelosi and Hairy Reed need to get in front of the American public more often and sell them on this stimulus bill. Every time Granny McRictusbotoxface opens her piehole to explain it, public support for it goes down. I’m sure Hairy can be just as big a contributor to the cause with his sparkling “Skeletor” personality. Hop to it folks. You wrote the bill, you own it.

    Democraps indeed.

  12. Switzerland is abolishing nude hiking. Bummer.

  13. Cute, those pesky Krauts have lots of free time.

Nude hiking? Makes slip and fall a whole lots more problematic.

Can lose a nut or something.

  14. At least the hikers are not too hard to look at. You should see (well, you really don’t want to) the nude German tourists on the Mediterranean beaches — grandma and grandpa along with daddy and mommy and four fat kids.

  15. Another Obama nominee, another tax scofflaw.

President Obama’s pick for health and human services secretary, Tom Daschle, failed to pay more than $128,000 in taxes, partly for free use of a car and driver that had been provided to him by a prominent businessman and Democratic fund-raiser, administration officials said Friday.

  16. If all it takes to keep from paying taxes is to be a Democrat, sign me up.

  17. Yeah, but you have to sacrifice 20 iQ points as well – some sort of requirement.
