Merry Christmas Eve

Filed under: General — DRJ @ 3:08 pm

[Guest post by DRJ]

Our host will wish everyone a Merry Christmas so I’ll pass along my Christmas Eve wishes. Our household celebrates on Christmas Eve. We think it’s less stressful and we especially like that we don’t have to get up so early! Observing Christmas tonight also extends the holiday into two days, making it a nice family time.

Other families are celebrating Hanukkah and other holidays, or just enjoying being with or thinking about people they care for. Whatever you celebrate, wherever you are: Best wishes to everyone.

  2. Please accept without obligation, express or implied, these best wishes for an environmentally safe, socially responsible, low stress, non addictive, and gender neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday as practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice (but with respect for the religious or secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or for their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all) and further for a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and medically uncomplicated onset of the generally accepted calendar year (including, but not limited to, the Christian calendar, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures). The preceding wishes are extended without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith, choice of computer platform, or sexual preference of the wishee(s).
    Or,
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Everybody!

  4. To all,

Whether you celebrate Hanukkah, Kwanza, Christmas, or Festivas, or even nothing at all, this season is about family and friends. Enjoy, let the season wrap you in its warmth and caress you. Think positive about the future as it is never as dark as we fear.

  6. I’ll be sending this out (as I do each year we are all home-at least all in this country.) It is what the holdays are for me.

Merry Chirstmas to all! It’s 6:25 and I am the only one awake. I have walked the halls and looked in on sleeping Children and grandchildren, resisting the urge to give one a shake. Because it is what this holiday brings for me. All around me and all safe in their beds, I somehow want it to stay this way forever! But soon all happy hell will break loose. I hope that your Christmas morning is as joyous and loved filled as well.Paul Skurnick

  7. To some observers, the Official Internet Data Office is just another faceless multinational corporation, run by anonymous executives, researchers, and information technology professionals, with no regard whatsoever for the welfare of other citizens of the commonwealth, and no public presence except for our receptionist, Polly. And that’s pretty much right. Nevertheless, on behalf of its management, stockholders, employees and attorneys, we wish all the members of the Patterico.com family a very Merry Christmas!

  8. Merry Christmas to you “my friends”. At this defining moment of change, we must not forget to remember the poor and homeless. And I can see your houses from my backyard.

Why yes it is. A climate change miracle.

We open our packages on Christmas Eve. Dad’s gift was the lesson that impatience has it’s rewards.

  18. Christmas Eve, 1968. Apollo 8 broadcasts to Earth from the moon. If you weren’t alive to experience it, get a DVD and taste the flavor of the times and the moment. Nothing tops it.

    Peace.

  19. DRJ, we do something similar, with one half of the marriage celebrating Christmas Eve (thanks to my parents, who understood that the wives of their three sons had families too) and then traveling to the other half of the family….takes a bit of work, and when the baby reff was younger, allowed for Santa to make his visit….but, in the end, we get two days of celebration….

Merry Christmas Eve to you and yours….and may all your days bring joy, happiness, peace and love….
