Andrew Sullivan Ecstatic About New Blog That Calls Sarah Palin a “Bitch”

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 7:26 pm

It seems like it should be a Treacher or iowahawk parody, but I really saw this on Memeorandum today:

P.S. Sullivan today calls Palin’s pregnancy her “pregnancy.” Using quotation marks.

  1. Two ancient old lesbians on electric scooters. What’s not to like ?

If you’re an Obama voter, I mean.

    Mike K (2cf494)

  2. And Andrew Sullivan is a c**ksucker, but we always knew that.

    Zelsdorf Ragshaft III (e18128)

  3. Let’s not start in with that stuff, please. There are gay readers here who *aren’t* utter assholes like Sullivan, and I don’t want them to feel alienated.

I get the pun and everything, but still.

    Patterico (0bf03d)

  4. “Mr. Doubt” (y’know, the limits of man’s understanding of a complex world) is endorsing – boy, is he ever – a candidate who says he will “repair the world” and “knock down the barriers across the globe” and expand government more than any president since the New Deal.

Yeah, so much for the “doubt” stuff.

    SteveMG (1fb445)

  5. Why stop at investigating a single pregnancy?

Why do we think any of those children are Palin’s? Shouldn’t we get DNA tests and medical records from each of those births?

Further, how do we know that Sarah Palin is, indeed, a female candidate, both genetically and currently? Only DNA testing and a physical examination would be sufficient. (I believe a team of doctors should be appointed to ensure fairness.) It would be just like the Republicans to use a poseur.

The failure to provide this information is an obvious sign that there’s a coverup. No other explanation is rational.

    –JRM, or not

  6. I think that Excitable Andy is the demonic bastard lovechild of Michael Moore and Rosie O’Donnell.

    JD (5b4781)

  7. I think that we should all refer to Andrew Sullivan as an “intellectual” or “journalist” or “blogger.”

    Let alone “professional.”

    In quotation marks.

I mean, until we get independent confirmation of these things from various institutions. How difficult could that be?

I’m with Patterico on the gay business. I think that Sullivan’s incredible level of braying jackassery has nothing to do with his gender preference.

    Eric Blair (51924c)

  8. Given the strange circumstances around Palin’s pregnancy and the lack of medical records and her general oddness, I’d call it a “pregnancy” also.

    jack (bf306e)

  9. No, jack, there are no “strange” circumstances and the only “oddness” is in nutjobs like you and Andrew.

    SPQR (26be8b)

  10. “JRM, or not” wrote,

Further, how do we know that Sarah Palin is, indeed, a female candidate, both genetically and currently?

We know she isn’t. Wendy Doniger said so on the Newsweek site, and she’s a Distinguished Professor of the history of religion. If that doesn’t make her a top expert in determining if someone is a woman or not, I don’t know what does. 🙂

  11. #8~

Given the strange circumstances around [Gov.] Palin’s pregnancy

Alaskans don’t particularly consider the Northern Lights “strange circumstances.”

    EW1(SG) (a19624)

  12. “mysterious pregnancy?” WTF?

Does Andrew want video of Sarah breastfeeding Trig, too? With milk samples taken to make sure she’s not faking it?

    Darleen (187edc)

  13. …seeing Sully’s name in the same sentence as the word bitch makes me smile. There’s some serious irony there.

    Dana (658c17)

  14. Obama didn’t release his med records, neither did either of the Clintons.

    Darleen (187edc)

  15. Andrew Sullivan is #1 on my list of people I’d Fight To The Death.

It amazes me to no end that no one at The Atlantic recognized the serious damage that hack has done to their brand and tradition.

    It’s sick-making.

    Christopher Calandro (ba29da)

  16. Given the strange circumstances around Palin’s pregnancy and the lack of medical records and her general oddness, I’d call it a “pregnancy” also.

Thank you, jackass, for identifying yourself, so very clearly, as someone deserving of nothing other than contempt, scorn, and mockery.

Eric B – Braying jackassery. You are not suggesting that Excitable Andy has a fondness for farm animals, are you?

    JD (5b4781)

  17. Sullie is one of those people that they won’t have to embalm.
Give him an enema, and bury him in a shoebox.

    Another Drew (d394a6)

  18. jack – Please explain #8 for us. In case you forgot, you said …

Given the strange circumstances around Palin’s pregnancy and the lack of medical records and her general oddness, I’d call it a “pregnancy” also.

    JD (5b4781)

  19. There is an upside to all the abuse Sarah Palin has taken since she was announced as McCain’s VP pick. I can finally say what I really think about Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer and several other female Democratic politicians without their supporters being able to criticize my statements.

    ROA (8c8470)

  20. jack,

I’d call your comment “intelligent” and “insightful.”

    Patterico (cc3b34)

  21. I think Patterico has been hitting the bottle a little hard tonite 😉

    JD (5b4781)

  22. This should embarass the folks at HuffPo.

Sadly, it does not. It is encouraged.

    JD (5b4781)

  23. So as things turn out, Andrew Sullivan is both gay and actually more liberal than he previously let on?

    A homosexual who’s also a liberal?

    How unusual!

    Mark (7accf5)

  24. Barack Hussein Obama is a Marxist. I’d rather have a bitch as vice president than a Marxist as president.

    Josh (6d5550)

  25. Tina Fey, whose opinion Excitable Andy might actually listen to and who, um, actually met her, several times praised Governor Palin on national TV as the opposite of a bitch.

So. Who will vouch for Andrew Sullivan’s personable nature?

    *crickets*

    no one you know (1ebbb1)

  26. They can call the Republican candidates all of those names, but if I even mention Obama’s middle name I am racist?

    Amphipolis (fdbc48)

  27. “I get the pun and everything, but still”.

    Bigot.

    🙂

Seriously, if there are gays out there who actually would get even remotely offended at the obviously humorous double-entendre of that epithet (directed at, let’s face it, a deplorable human being), then they’re wound so tightly & so apt to embrace political correctness that I doubt anything other than abject praise would appease their sensibilities. Or, in short, they’re Andrew Sullivan, who is seemingly always complaining about being vile-lated (that one’s mine, btw).

Relax, no one with a sense of rationality (or humor) is going to get verklempt over that, I’m willing to bet. It’s not anti-gay to poke fun with something that got Kevin Costner thrown out of the game in Bull Durham.

It was funny. Humor can be biting, that’s what makes it funny. And, let’s face it, Sullivan IS what got Costner thrown from the game (I meant it in the figurative sense, but, yes, it does apply in the literal). Funny.

Hey, I’m a Baptist and I find zero wrong with funny jokes about my section of Christianity. Then again, I have a sense of humor & don’t go ’round searching for ways to get offended.

    Life’s to short, isn’t it?

    RW (2937d1)

  28. good lord, JD.

But not surprising… Palermo has been getting off on Obama assassination p0rn for some time.

I think Patterico has been hitting the bottle a little hard tonite

I think “jack” knows what I mean when I put “praise” of jack inside “quotation marks.”

I think you do too, JD, but for the benefit of the other folks . . .

    Patterico (cc3b34)

  30. Oh, I got it Patterico, but now I am laughing even harder.

    JD (5b4781)

  31. JD #16: I would never claim that AS is into beastiality, no. But I have not seen any veterinary records on those beagles of his. Why not?

    Eric Blair (8283e5)

  32. Inquiring minds do not want to know …

But, until he releases all of his medical records, and those of his chihuahuas, questions will persist.

    JD (5b4781)

  33. Nietzsce’s “ressentiment” explains Sullivan’s Palin Malice Syndrome (PMS) perfectly.

(And I am using the quotation marks correctly, here.)

    nk (5dcbab)

  34. I think that Sullivan’s incredible level of braying jackassery has nothing to do with his gender preference

I agree, Eric – but as we’ve speculated previously, there seems to be a growing awareness on the part of some objective observers that his illness may be progressing to a stage that was not apparent up to a few years ago. I hold no brief for his noxious rants, but you could make a case for the beginning stages of dementia, if his current behavior is any indication. If true, quite sad and disturbing.

    Dmac (e30284)

  35. Dmac, you may be correct. From what I understand, AS (what is his middle initial?) got into a relationship with a person who is decidedly Left of center. So I think that his personal life has probably contributed to a drift Leftward. The fact that the drift seems to ignore all kinds of prior statements is a pretty common problem in politically “mixed marriages.”

Then came the GWB decision on gay marriage. And the spittle started to fly. And I think that once you begin down that slippery slope of Daily Kos thinking, the acceleration picks up quickly. It’s a giant (forgive me) circle jerk with crazy people egging on more craziness, like on Olbermann.

Why, you end up like certain trolls who post here, with all kinds of bizarre conspiracy theories and misunderstandings of historical facts (too much reading of Zinn’s books, I imagine)!

All that said, Dmac, you may be correct about the dementia. But to be honest, I hope not. I don’t wish that kind of thing on anyone.

    Eric Blair (51924c)

  36. It’s a giant (forgive me) circle jerk with crazy people egging on more craziness, like on Olbermann.

You will most certainly NOT be forgiven for that mental image.

    JD (5b4781)

  37. Sullivan’s middle initial is “M”

    Icy Truth (1468e4)

  38. Speaking of lesbians and HuffPo.

But why 200 times ? I’d rather be called a bitch, I guess.

    And why Phillips ?

    Hmmm

    Mike K (f89cb3)

  39. Let’s not start in with that stuff, please. There are gay readers here who *aren’t* utter assholes like Sullivan, and I don’t want them to feel alienated.

No alienation whatsoever on the part of this gay reader.

Seriously. Since Andrew Sullivan thinks his sexual orientation requires him to act like an idiot, it should be treated accordingly. It’s no different than Obama squalling about “racism” to squelch any criticism of him or as an excuse for his ludicrous and idiotic beliefs.

    North Dallas Thirty (efe6ff)

  40. NDT – Don’t go forgetting that we are all a bunch of racist, misogynistic, xenophobic, jingoistic homophobes around here.

    JD (5b4781)

  41. Couldn’t have said it better, NDT, in post #40. I’m not against Obama because he’s black. I’m against him because he’s a lying, anti-American racist who is parading around as the answer for what ails America. Keep your leftist illuminati ideals, Barack. You may win the election, but I’m still flying my American flag at my house…that is until your followers burn it for me.
