Anti-Palin Story? Put it on Page One! Questions About It? We Have Blogs, Don’t We?
Here is how Big Media operates, friends.
If it looks like tons of money was spent for Sarah Palin’s clothing, that is reported in print editions across the country, and is discussed around water coolers and over dining room tables from coast to coast.
If it starts to look like there are questions about the story, that story is confined to a blog. (H/t B.F.) [UPDATE: Also, she shops resale in real life. Yeah, that's in a blog too. A fashion blog.]
If it looks like Palin is avoiding the media, that story is reported in print editions across the country, and is discussed around water coolers and over dining room tables from coast to coast.
If it starts to look like Palin is the one meeting the media — and doing just fine — while Slow Joe Biden is being muzzled due to his chronic foot-in-mouth disease . . . that story is confined to a blog.
No bias here!

Is there anyone left who considers this election “fair and free”?

Apparently, the “questions about the story” involve the RNC and clothing expenses that can’t be documented. I don’t see how this angle gaining traction helps Palin.

What I find ironic
Obama’s campaign credit card fraud is non-news worthy, but Palin’s clothes are front page news.
ACRON voter fraud, still not news worthy, Obama’s tax plan, still not news worthy.
By the way have they dug more dirt up on Joe the plumber yet, the guy could have an unpaid bar tab somewhere?
Oh, the humanity.

Interesting to note that the issue of Palin’s clothes is an easily spun story. The public doesn’t have to give a lot of thought or understanding to a wardrobe issue and any questions about it are also easily accepted. And given the economic climate, it plays beautifully into the hyped up anger against any who are perceived as wealthy (which will eventually automatically equal something akin to criminal….)
However, to understand the details and ramifications of ACORN’s fraud, Obama’s tax plan, and the serious connections of Obama with nefarious individuals, people must dig deep, research and connect the dots while parsing through the willful obfuscation and misleading of the MSM.
It makes sense to choose a simple lightweight subject of Palin’s wardrobe to throw people off the trail of what really matters.

steve,
It’s interesting that the questions are confined to a blog, but let’s pretend like the questions raised — payments that can’t be documented — are unimportant.
Check the update. Does it help her that she normally shops resale stores?

Only if she isn’t a Republican.

In the abstract, it should help her.
Of course, if “Out of the Closet” is indeed a gay-themed store, the Palin sidebar running in the print edition might occasion a “media agenda” broadside in the opposite vein.
Incidentally, I don’t consider the undocumented payments “unimportant.”

What a bunch of disgusting vermin.

I was struck by the tone of Andrew Malcom’s blog item on Biden being muzzled (the last link in Patterico’s post). Malcom practically holds the campaign in scorn for making Biden disappear. For once, a media liberal seems to be acknowledging the fact that there is a double standard to their coverage:
Of cousre, like clockwork all the lefty commenters brought out the “the GOP must be getting desperate if this is all they can latch on to” meme, the one that the Dear Leader’s people told them to use in these final weeks.

The taxpayer subsidizes the hair care, makeup, first class plane tickets and stays at five star hotels for journalists. As these are considered business expenses, they are tax deductible and on average the taxpayer pays 40% of the extravagant MSM lifestyles.
