Too Good to Resist

Despite his staff’s promise that he wouldn’t do it again, Barack Obama again used without credit the words of Washington Post cartoonist Tom Toles to describe the policies of McCain-Palin:

“Except for economic policies, and tax policies, and energy policies, and health care policies, and education policies, and Karl Rove-style politics — except for all that, we’re really going to bring change to Washington! We’re really going to shake things up!”

Scroll down at the second link. The mention is buried in an otherwise complimentary article about an Obama speech in New Hampshire.

  1. Change you can Xerox.

  2. It’s still a great line, and not just because it was about Obama.

  3. Most of his lines could have been written by Garry Trudeau anyway.

  4. I always enjoy watching my Left of center friends, so outraged by certain behaviors from the Right, defend identical actions taken by Senator Obama.

I am starting to think of Senator Obama as being another “empty suit.” In fact, he is beginning to appear quite similar to John Edwards, but without the testosterone poisoning and over-reliance on hair care products.

  5. Oh, and Senator Obama using the words of someone else without attribution? Sounds like the result of mentoring by his Vice Presidential selection.

  6. The easy rejoinder is:
“Obama has never changed economic policies, and never changed tax policies, and never changed energy policies, and never changed health care policies, and never changed education policies, and based on that record, he is really going to bring change to Washington! He’s really going to shake things up!”

  7. Do everyday people really know or care who Rove is? The guy is referenced in nearly 1/2 of the posts on lefty blogs. Whatever, they are going to lose.

  8. Do everyday people really know or care who Rove is? The guy is referenced in nearly 1/2 of the posts on lefty blogs.
You’re exactly right Wesson. At this point in the campaign, you should already have your base locked up. You’re supposed to be trying to attract undecided voters, who don’t know or care about a Rove.

Obama linking McCain to Bush. Bush has a low approval rating. McCain linking Palin to cleaning up Congress. Congress has an even lower approval rating then Bush. I wonder which strategy is attracting voters?

I used to think that the Hillary supporters were just whining about Obama because he wasn’t kissing her ass. I’m really starting to believe that with his arrogance, superiority complex, and stupidity that he went out of his way to offend and antagonize her.

  9. At a deep psychological level, Obama hates women, it’s typical of fatherless boys raised by rejected women, especially weak mothers who dump boys on stern grandmothers. The boys grow up learning how to manipulate women by playing on their guilty emotions.

These boys know that to get something all they have to do is start asking, “Where’s my daddy? All the other boys have daddys. Why did you make MY daddy go away?” I’ve seen it first hand, and it works like a charm. Even when the women know it’s blackmail, they still cave in, everytime.

It’s that easy, so the boys never develop any real respect for their mothers or grandmothers. From there, the lack of respect extends to all women. Nobody loves or respects doormats.

  10. I really don’t think the libs realize that Bush or Rove aren’t running in this election. BDS is so strong it has blinded them to the fact that the McCain/Palin ticket is kicking them in the backside.

A study of Obama’s body language and expressions gives one the impression that Eddie Haskell is alive and well.

  11. Stealing and using a quote from a ‘cartoon’ seems to fit the Hussein image. He is a cartoon character in the making but Bozo the clown is already taken. Hussein is more like the assistant on a sewage pumper truck. I saw a sign that fits Hussein’t truck, “Caution, this truck contains my political promises’.

  12. liontooth, you do realize that GWB’s approvel rating is three times that of the democrat led congress don’t you. You’re correct on what drives Hussein O, hate.

  13. Just one more example of the Dems always fighting the last campaign – first we get the Swiftboating charges, now this; memo – Karl Rove isn’t working for George Bush.

  14. I’d love to see the Obama-Biden trounced. And those morons like Fatima Ali calling for race and class war embarrassed so they don’t show their ugly prejudices again, but expect that any Obama loss will have the likes of Wright, Jackson and Sharpton in high state of agitation. Thinking people who are watching the media with any sense of logic and fairplay should rebel against manipulation. With any common sense shown at all, McGovern I will suffer the same electoral fate as George did.
“To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.” Can you imagine the vile spewed by Michelle with her sense of entitlement usurped? Maybe the Senator could earmark more money for that non-profit hospital where she ostensibly works by referring poor patients to other hospitals? What will Rezno say before sentencing in late October? What roles would Wright, Ayers and assorted anti-American rabble have played in an Obama administration?

  15. The Sunday morning shows are all Palin except for Stephanopolis having Greenspan on. Claire McCaskill, who is a Senator because her husband died in a plane crash. is calling Palin a liar. Where have we heard that before?

Tony Knowles is going on about all the terrible things the woman, who whipped him in the election, did as governor. That must be why she has an 85% approval rating and he is retired.

Schumer is going on at MTP. Brokaw is almost looking pleased as he shows Schumer the disastrous Obama poll numbers.

I don’t think they have figured out yet what hit them. They are raging about her in public and cementing her gains.

  16. I feel sorry for Bambi. I truly do.

He was promoted way beyond his ability, and he’s like the proverbial deer in the headlights.

A woman – a woman! – is beating him in the polls, and she is not the Chosen One. How can that be?

Bambi needs to find a way to get that awful woman to just shut up and get out of his head.

I was going to say: “Change you could carbon copy“, but Al Gore has a monopoly on the carbon!

  19. but Al Gore has a monopoly on the carbon! The failure of the world to acknowledge his creation of the Internet has forced him to monopolize carbon.Had we seen this accomplishment, none of our carbon would be missing

  20. Zzzzz… Wake me up, friends, when he tells big Palin lies like being against earmarks even though he rakes in millions on them!

‘Can’t blame you guys for trying, but jeez.

  23. Pretty soon they’ll have to put Tom Toles on the campaign payroll. I’m sure he’s pretty tired of doing it for free.

  24. liontooth, you do realize that GWB’s approvel rating is three times that of the democrat led congress don’t you

Huh? This is what I wrote:
Obama linking McCain to Bush. Bush has a low approval rating. McCain linking Palin to cleaning up Congress. Congress has an even lower approval rating then Bush. I wonder which strategy is attracting voters?

You think that Obama is attracting voters?
