Great Preview Of Tonight’s Segment Over at Treacher

Stole this from the Weekly Standard blog, who got it from Treacher:

Gibson:  What do you think of the Constitution?

Palin:  … Could you be more specific?

Gibson:  [Stares over glasses]  The one passed in 1776.

Palin:  Well I think the Founding Fathers were geniuses.

Sullivan:  OH MY GOD — SHE DOESN’T KNOW WHAT THE CONSTITUTION IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I took a couple liberties in making the joke my own.

  2. Hey, listen up. U guys complain about Charlie Gibson…Liberals been complaining about him for some time. Perhaps, we’re on the same page.

But just Who picked him? After two weeks of intense training of our Alaskan hard wired bot, Just who did the Bush/McCain/Palin team pick for her coming out party’s chaperon? Also, did ABC pay big bucks for this privilege. Just asking!?

Why didn’t they pick Fox? Even Obama went on to the Dark Side’s media giant.

was that fish wrapped in a newspaper Obama spoke of…tuna? Charlie Tuna?

    This is actually pretty funny.

Too bad for Team Barack that the revolutionaries lose in Les Mis. I am pretty sure somebody will be miserable on November 5.

And I am sorry, I have seen Les Mis, read Les Mis, and you Barack Obama are no Jean Val Jean.

  7. Gibson: Tell us Sarah what do you think of the Constitution?

Sarah.. (batting her eyes and crinkling her nose) Well a few glasses of prune juice and my constitution is just fine!

Could that be a new record???

  13. WLS,

I was 50/50 on whether this was part of the joke or not…

I enjoy reading all of the articles you folks write here. Lots of fun (some posters–not so much–but that is life).

  14. JD…I think I can find jingoism in your expression….McHalliburton would include McDonald’s, an All-American company represented by a clown, as well as Halliburton, whose imperialistic leadership has placed the American Flag firmly into the ground everywhere in the world, and would be on the Moon but that spot was taken by Lockheed Martin-Martin Marietta….

  18. Gibson: What do you think of the Constitution?

Palin: … Could you be more specific?

Gibson: [Stares over glasses] The one passed in 1776.

It should be noted that the Constitution did not come into being until 1787 and did not become effective until 1789. (according to Wikipedia)

  20. The fact that she needs to interview with this obviously fair and objective pillar of media makes me think that Obama and Biden should be interviewed by Rush or at least Hannity.

    Comment by BrentF — 9/12/2008 @ 9:21 pm

  21. You guys are all dummies! The constitution was drafted in 1776. Without this document we wouldn’t have the freedom we enjoy in these 58 states that we call America.

    Comment by BrentF — 9/12/2008 @ 9:27 pm

  22. It’s now official, Charlie Gibson has asked more questions of Palin then McCain has.

    Be afraid, be very afraid.

    Comment by Oiram — 9/13/2008 @ 12:30 am

  23. That’s right. McCain did not ask her the same question (several of them) three times. He didn’t ask her what she thinks of Hillary. He didn’t ask her about the “Bush Doctrine” because they are going to make one of their own. He didn’t ask her about what she said in church. Just by separating the chaff he didn’t need to ask her that many questions.

    Comment by Icy Truth — 9/13/2008 @ 12:59 am

  24. Well, it seems to me the logical pic for McCain would of been Romney, the reason he didn’t pick him was in fact brilliant.

If McCain had picked Romney, we would still be discussing The Democratic National Convention and it’s great speeches, instead of a hockey mom mayor of 7,000 people and Governor of a state with the population of San Bernardino, Ca.

One can only hope, and I say one because I realize I’m all by myself in this room, that America wakes up and pulls the lever, or rather pushes the button for Obama.

    Comment by Oiram — 9/13/2008 @ 1:35 am

  25. One can only hope that Oiram’s hopes come crashing down on that Tuesday in November.

  26. 24~

because I realize I’m all by myself in this room,

You find yourself in a room full of intelligent people, almost all of whom disagree with you.

Ya think there might be a reason for that?

Even seeing Obama and “button” in the same sentence makes me shudder.

It’s 3am… the phone rings… three hours later Obama is still repeating “uh.”

The saying “when pigs fly” is about to take on a whole new meaning.

  30. “Most intelligent people are liberals, all of whom disagree with you.

    Comment by i like america — 9/13/2008 @ 6:54 am”

As usual, a liberal got it backwards:

Most liberals are people who THINK they are intelligent. If their politicians are any indication, as often as not the record does not support their assertions.

    Biden
    Kerry
… when’s Obama gonna show us his grades? Hmm?

    Comment by Dan S — 9/13/2008 @ 8:15 am

  31. Dan S

Sorry, you fail. Academia is stuffed with liberals. Whether you like it or not, smart people tend to be liberals.

Your line is that it doesn’t matter that liberals are smarter than conservatives because they’re elitist.

Obama’s from Harvard – whatever you think of his politics, he’s smarter than you are.

    Comment by i like america — 9/13/2008 @ 5:20 pm

  32. Dan S – making things up is fun, but you’re in the wrong on this one.

    Liberals dominate academia.

Conservatives rule… well I’m sure they rule something.

Oh yes, they rule political talk radio. At least from a ratings perspective, liberals are terrible at political talk radio
