All I can say is — Wow.

Read this and scratch your head in bewilderment.

Is she speaking for any other Obama supporters?

  3. WLS,

“Is she speaking for any other Obama supporters?”

She is speaking for herself. And I’d think you were well aware of that.

Seriously, what are you thinking when you post comments like that?

    jharp (a28e4a)

  4. I kinda tale that back. You were clear in the headline.

But still should have omitted “Is she speaking for any other Obama supporters?”

    jharp (a28e4a)

  5. jharp, allow me to enlighten you on the purpose of the punctuation mark known as the question mark. It is represented by the character “?”. Note that its name is a clue as to its purpose in english grammar.

  6. Is she speaking for any other Obama supporters?

    Yeah. Lots of ’em.

    EW1(SG) (1c0755)

  7. Cintra Wilson is one sick puppy that should be put to sleep before the disease spreads. Well, that may be too late since 90% + of those claiming to be democrats are now or soon will be in mental health care. I guess that’s why they want free (free is a joke since it will cost twice as much and provide half or less of the health care we have today) health care, the know they need it now or soon will.

  8. Utterly. Deranged.

  9. SPQR, are you an elitest AH? See I used a question mark when it was not needed. You identify yourself as an elitest AH by trying to correct someone else. This ain’t no freakin class room, go away.

Stick around DRJ. It’s gonna get a lot worse.

That’s one of the few times I’m worse off because I read something.

Holy Cow! The normally unflappable DRJ is flapped!

Of course, I suffer that consequence all the time, since in spite of my mother’s desire that I develop some gentlemanly traits, I became a sailor instead.

  14. Wilson’s vicious and bordering on psychotic essay is commonspeak for NOW and Emily’s List and like groups who purport to have women’s best interest at heart but the only issue that matters, what really matters is protecting what as their inalienable right, to abort their babies, whenever and however.

She is dangerous. She is not just pro-life, she’s anti-life. She is the suppression of human feeling and instinct. She is a slave to the compromises dictated by her own desire for power and control

Its unfortunate Wilson is so unfamiliar with a strong-minded individual thinking woman…her entire essay comes off as some ooga-booga nonsense.

    Dana (084de8)

  15. Is that author serious? Is it parody? If that truly represented the author’s thinking, I hope the author gets professional help or counseling.

I presume screenshots of that have been taken?

Many might disbelieve its existence, or claim a reference to it was a falsehood, if it goes down a memory hole as others have at Kos.

    jim2 (03b0ae)

  16. At first I was appalled, then I was angry, then I felt pity for Cintra. There was so much anger, bigotry and hate in her article, which only means one thing: she is scared… and she is asking for help the only way she knows how… by lashing out.

I can only thank God (or in her case, god) that I am not her, don’t know her, and never have to read anything from her septic tank, hate spoiled brain again.

On both the Left and Right, if people make their case clearly, I will listen. But when scathing vitriol is spewed with lies and innuendo, and the self-righteous attitude of “my way is right, you are a stupid troll if you don’t agree”, I just have pity for the fool that they are.

  17. Cintra Wilson has all the unbecoming signs of a very jealous woman.

  19. Cinta needs years and years of therapy.

    Perfect Sense (9d1b08)

  20. You’re almost correct, Perfect Sense. Yes, she needs years and years of therapy, but she’ll need an entire TEAM of psychiatrists to help her get through this. Seriously though, how can any media outlet (online or otherwise) publish something like that?

Just imagine what she’ll write if McCain/Palin wins…as long as it isn’t another one of those “I’m moving to Canada” pieces!

    Cankle (59a78a)

  21. This one in the LA Times is more delusional but a little less hateful. These people cannot control themselves. I wrote her but got an automated reply. Comments were closed.

    Milhouse (2f64c7)

  23. Therapy is no help for narcissism. I’m no shrink, but in my estimation, she would function better in a highly-structured, rules-based environment with swift, sharp punishment for transgressions and a stable hierarchy where her status was secure with no chance of either an up- or down- grade.

  25. Cintra Wilson used to have a semi-regular column in the old San Francisco Examiner, (which was an afternoon paper) when it still owned by Hearst. Then she was let go, when the paper was sold in 2000. Her columns, which could be described as undisciplined, unedited riffs about lifestyles and popular culture, seemed to be profoundly self-absorbed exercises in trying to sound hipper than everyone in the room.

    Scott Jacobs (d3a6ec)

  27. OIDO,
I knew her name was familiar….I live in SF (yes, I am ridiculously outnumbered!) and I used to read the Examiner on the bus ride home. Columnists for the SF papers (Saunders excepted) just try to outdo each other all the time. And when I write “columnists”, I also mean editorial writers.

Bottom line, if a conservative columnist ever wrote something like this, they’d probably be fired instantly.

  31. What you witness is the embodiment of Left enlightment. When they lose at the polls, it is never because people reject the Left ideology, it is always be cause some sinister Other “stole” the election or “bamboozled” the stupid hoi poloi. So there are no leaders of good faith outside of the Left. Palin isn’t a talented woman who has earned her way from PTA through Governorship…she is Stepford Wife (which is pretty thin, considering Todd’s supportive role of her ambitions) She is the evil totalitarin wannabe.

What you see in all the rambling “fears” is drooling projection.

    Darleen (187edc)

  32. Q: Where Have I Seen Sarah Palin Before?
    A: Iran

One of the problems the government faced was opposition from legions of mothers whose sons had been maimed or died in the war. To confront this problem, the government-controlled TV would parade a mother whose son had died in the war in front of the TV on a regular basis. Invariably, this “show mom” would be carrying an infant child and a few other siblings with her. And invariably, she would say something to the effect that “I have given one child to this ‘sacred’ war, and I am ready to give the next one.” Almost always, there would be an adoring crowd who would follow her statements by chants of “Allaho-Akbar” (God is Great).

And Lincoln Chafee just called Palin a Wacko.
And odd that her big speech included quotes from a man who regretted the failure of the attempted assassination of a president.

    Jar@my home computer (6b0755)

  33. She is speaking for herself. And I’d think you were well aware of that.
    — Read this slowly: WLS is not asking if she is speaking on behalf of any group in an official capacity. The question is whether or not others in the Obama camp share the sentiments; and if so, how many.

But still should have omitted “Is she speaking for any other Obama supporters?”
    — Oh look! The uninvited editor is here.

    Icy Truth (2c3adb)

  34. Has anyone mentioned this one by SC Democratic Chairwoman Carol Fowler?

South Carolina Democratic chairwoman Carol Fowler sharply attacked Sarah Palin today, saying John McCain had chosen a running mate “whose primary qualification seems to be that she hasn’t had an abortion.”

Palin is an opponent of abortion rights and gave birth to her fifth child, Trig, earlier this year after finding out during her pregnancy that the baby had Down syndrome.

Fowler told my colleague Alex Burns in an interview that the selection of an opponent of abortion rights would not boost McCain among many women.

“Among Democratic women and even among independent women, I don’t think it helped him,” she said.

Told of McCain’s boost in the new ABC/Washington Post among white women following the Palin pick, Fowler said: “Just anecdotally, I believe that those white women are Republican women anyway.”

Fowler later apologized “to anyone who finds my comment offensive,” saying she was just trying to make a point about single-issue voters.

    DRJ (7568a2)

  35. DRJ,
When was the last time a politician actually apologized for saying something stupid? What media/communications consultant started this whole “if anyone found my comments offensive” line of fake-apology deliveries? Does anyone actually think that works? It has spread to sports stars, actors, anyone who says something offensive. Seems to me a genuine apology, perhaps one that includes a bit of humorous self-deprecation, would be welcome. (As in “what kind of an idiot would say something so stupid?!”)

Especially from someone’s campaign who is supposed to be all about “healing” and “new politics”!

    Cankle (59a78a)

  36. scrapiron…actually, because you placed the sentence in the form of a question (are you an elitist AH “?”) you did need a question mark. So, your english lesson to SPQR simply proves you are an elitist asshole, and I didn’t even need to use alphabetic capitalized letters representing the word asshole.

SPQR…sorry, fed the troll again….I’m really weak and lack self control when the troll enters the room….

    I repudiate myself again….But, JD, I’m not a racist asshole….just an asshole….

  38. JAR the fucking liar scribbled with his big-boy crayons:

Lincoln Chafee just called Palin a Wacko.
    — The same Lincoln Chafee who, as the poster boy for the acronym RINO, was voted out of office and turned independent? What were the odds?

odd that her big speech included quotes from a man who regretted the failure of the attempted assassination of a president.
    — You’re like Wile E. Coyote; the boulder’s falling and you’re meekly holding a parasol over your head. It will work as well for you as it does in the Looney Tunes.

Palin: A writer observed: “We grow good people in our small towns, with honesty, sincerity, and dignity.” I know just the kind of people that writer had in mind when he praised Harry Truman. I grew up with those people. They are the ones who do some of the hardest work in America…

    — Forget the man and consider the sentiment. What is wrong with it?

    Icy Truth (2c3adb)

  39. Don’t know who she speaks for. What I do know is that she’s got some personal ‘issues’ that’s for sure. I couldn’t finish reading it – it was like watching a car wreck. I hope she gets professional help.

  40. Hey, EW1(SG):

Sorry to give you a Maalox Moment. But you have to admit that El Harpinator and Charming Cintra belong together.

They have SO much in common!

Except that she can spell and construct a sentence—if daffily.

    Eric Blair (36c1a9)

  41. #40 Eric Blair:

They have SO much in common!

    Indeed.

    Its just downright … scary.

    /Think of the children offspring!

    EW1(SG) (1c0755)

  42. Given Ms. Wilson’s prose, I would suggest that the Harpster would carry the offspring, much like a seahorse.

I would bet that Icy Truth could come up with a great PhotoShop of how those offspring would look—complete with Elton John glasses.

    Eric Blair (36c1a9)

  43. Cintra’s essay is a perfect example of why democrats lose presidential elections. They actually believe the rest of America thinks the way they do and are stupid, voting against their own self-interest, gender traitors, etc., etc. if they don’t agree. It’s a perfect example of liberal fascism. No tolerance. Women and minorities are supposed to hold a predetermined set of beliefs, no deviation is allowed. Very multicultural and big tentish of them.

I think something ate Cintra’s brain and yes, she is representative of many Obama supporters. Just observe jharp, JAR, and Peter among the current crop of trolls.

    The earth is round
    “Liar!”

    TheWall Street Journal
Ethics Adviser Warned Palin About Trooper Issue
“ANCHORAGE, Alaska — An informal adviser who has counseled Gov. Sarah Palin on ethics issues urged her in July to apologize for her handling of the dismissal of the state’s public safety commissioner and warned that the matter could snowball into a bigger scandal. He also said, in a letter reviewed by The Wall Street Journal, that she should fire any aides who had raised concerns with the chief over a state trooper who was involved in a bitter divorce with the governor’s sister.

In the letter, written before Sen. John McCain picked the Alaska governor as his running mate, former U.S. Attorney Wevley Shea warned Gov. Palin that “the situation is now grave” and recommended that she and her husband, Todd Palin, apologize for “overreaching or perceived overreaching” for using her position to try to get Trooper Mike Wooten fired from the force.”

  46. Where is Icy when you need him? We need some Elton John lyrics adapted to this situation?

I’m thinking “Bennie and the Jets.”

    Eric Blair (36c1a9)

  47. Speaking of which, you know the true story about Elton John, I hope.

At some function, Elton John carried on about Dennis Miller as being what was wrong with America and so forth.

When asked about it, Miller shrugged.

“It’s not like it was Bernie Taupin insulting me,” he said.

  55. JAR @ 44 — Wevley Shea was US Attorney in 1992, under Bill Clinton/Janet Reno.

In other words, he’s a Democrat and not likely to have Palin’s best interest at the top of his agenda.

  56. “S’what? As you guys were obsessed with pointing out minutes afterward, she didn’t write it.”

Yes, It was written by PR flacks from the current administration.
And they knew who they were quoting.
    Corrupt, incompetent, and sleazy.
“80.8 percent of its population residing in cities and suburbs as of mid-year 2005.”
The cities are the heartland of America.

You don’t care about policy, you have none. Big city bankers one day and rural separatists the next. Your leaders can contradict themselves all they want, but to you it doesn’t matter, because they “know how to lead.” You’d vote for John Wayne since you liked his movies. Never mind that he was a faker and a coward. You’d vote for Mel Gibson because he yelled “Freedom!!” in a movie on the TeeVee.
    The hollowness amazes me.

  60. JAR, yeah there are plenty of people who don’t care who’s in power as long as they are RIGHT all the time. Those idealogues are everywhere, both parties, blogs, media, press (I’m separating those two from now on), everywhere. Obviously there are several idealogues here too….they do have principles though, one of them is “whatever it takes as long as we(I) win”.

Read past that though and there are plenty of people here who actually have some thoughtful, and better, thought provoking comments to make. Even the peanut gallery gets out a good thought or two from time to time, in between calling anyone who disagrees with them a “libtard etc. blah blah”.
