Harp's comments ring hollow, considering his fellow lefties' rabid, sexist attacks on Palin. Of course, that MO is par for the course for the left. They can't stand to see one of their target groups succeed away from the Democratic plantation. Powell got hit with racism from the Left, as did Rice (plus the sexism, as well), and now Palin. Hypocricy in action.

The lame comparison of Obama to Jesus and of Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter to Pilate (oops, guess they meant Palin, but then consistency never was their strong suit >:-) ) simply reeks of fear and desperation.

The democrats are very concerned about what John McCain has done to them in the polls. He is playing them like a stringed instrument.

Fighter pilots like John McCain are familiar with Colonel John Boyd’s OODA loop. Boyd was an F86 Saber jet pilot who invented energy maneuverability charts and devised a method of air-to-air combat. OODA also applies to business and politics. OODA stands for “observe, orient, decide, act”. The objective is to achieve a tighter loop than your opponent. Col Boyd picked up the nickname “40 second” Boyd by betting pilots that he could put them 1000’ behind him and within 40 seconds, he would be in firing position on their tail. The bet was $20 and he never lost.

McCain’s campaign has a very tight OODA loop. Every move he makes, he anticipates and prepares to counter Obama’s reaction. It's fundamental air combat.

McCain observed Obama’s Leviathan campaign and his Denver Coronation and oriented his campaign to gain an advantage over Obama’s poor decision on VP. He decided to smother Obama’s bounce with Sarah Palin the announcement. Less than a day after Obama stepped off his phony Greek temple, Sarah Palin blew Obama’s campaign away. Obama had shown the voters that on his first major decision - Biden - he had been looking backwards while McCain looked to the future. Having a campaign staff of 2,400 is not an advantage; it’s a burden.

The republican convention took Obama on as the democrat primaries and caucuses did not. Obama laughed at Palin’s résumé - small town mayor, governor - until she explained it to him. She criticized his community organizer and his “cling to guns and religion” in a way that undermined his qualifications and questioned his honesty.

McCain’s choice of Palin was masterful politics. Conservatives were leary of Maverick until Sarah Barracuda showed up. The social conservatives gave the ticket their support. Money is flowing into the RNC. McCain-Palin are leading in demographics that are essential to the democrats - white women and independents.

Obama, his supporters and the media piled on Palin are the public pushed back. McCain’s bounce increased. Within hours of Obama’s lipstick crack, McCain had an ad on TV. When Obama sent lawyers to Alaska to smear Palin as he had done to previous opponents, McCain had the 30 wolves video.

The major reason the Leftists are in a panic is that their brilliant, Ivy League candidate with his massive war chest and fauning media does not know what to do about relating to the vast majority of Americans.

"It is dangerous to focus your campaign on the personality of a candidate. While it has its advantages, it can have serious consequencies, should the said candidate be found a phony."

Lovey - Truer words were never said. I think this is a big reason the Obama campaign essentially peaked in February. The Republican assault has finally broken through the media ring of protection and gotten people to focus on the actual candidate and exposed him for the empty suit unqualified poseur that he is.

"No search required to notice someone commenting as “jharp” on TalkLeft brags about how they’re a designer of knock-off Elton John glasses is also commenting as “jharp” on Patterico but claiming to be some sort of international business tycoon."

Was thinking about your smartass remark and had to come back.

I'm flattered that you were so impressed with my idea that you remembered my name.

Or you are a liar.

Anyways, I sold a lot of the glasses and they sold well. And I made a lot of money on it.

Maybe it's time to bring them back.

Thanks.

"I read TalkLeft as well as Patterico."

That's good. Hopefully some of it sinks in.

"claiming to be some sort of international business tycoon."

Please let me know where you came up with this.

Seems to be a little jealousy coming from you. I've actually traveled to many parts of the world and some jackass asked me if I got out much and I answered.

Shad, I'm glad you did the digging. I'm sad that you can never get that time back.

I'm still betting on the fellow's identity as a 23 year old slacker at Starbucks, myself.

Or more accurately, something that metaphorically lives under a bridge.

(Don’t worry, Obama does that too, saying one thing to try to impress Republicans and letting his true colors show when he’s ensconced in a Democrat enclave.)

That's a slam dunk. Maybe even a three-pointer.
