The Feds Were Told

The Rocky Mountain News reports:

Aurora authorities alerted U.S. immigration officials in April that Francis Hernandez might be an illegal immigrant, Aurora police spokesman Bob Friel said Monday.

But the feds didn’t detain Hernandez. He remained free, despite 16 prior brushes with the law. And on Thursday, Hernandez, 23, allegedly broadsided a truck in Aurora, killing three people, including a toddler.

That’s pretty straightforward. Feds fail to do job on immigration; three people die.

Heads should roll.

  1. Like I said the other day – put those that failed to lock this guy away, and the leaders in Denver that made it a “sanctuary city” on trial with him – as accessories to murder.

City leaders, and those that enforce their Utopian ideas of “sanctuary cities” should be held accountable – including criminal charges and restitution to families that have suffered the loss of loved ones at the hands of those that they are grnating sanctuary to…

What’s the old saying – if you can’t do the time, then don’t do the crime…

  2. I understand the reflexive outrage at illegal immigrants with criminal records remaining in the country. But is deporting the “criminals” going to prevent traffic accidents…. are “criminal” illegal immigrants bad drivers too? I see where you’re trying to get, but I’m not sure all the dots connect here

  3. It’s always easy to blame the Feds; easy to cast dispersions with accusations that they shirk their responsibilities and fail to protect the public. The problem with that “rush to judgment analysis” is that the “Feds” are thwarted at every turn by second-guessers, politicians, media (who know what’s best for everyone), and your run of the mill naysayers from every corner. Could you stop and consider for a moment that that “Federal Officer” that so many are so quick to criticize is damned if he/she does or if he/she doesn’t. The Fed must deal with conflicting instructions from his/her own superiors, from Congress, from local law enforcement, from the idiots who justify “sancuary cities”, and hordes of other know it alls. So, let’s not be so darn quick to blame the “Feds” for all the troubles of immigration. They aren’t the ones who demand that we refer to illegal aliens as “undocumented immigrants.” They aren’t “immigrants”, they are “illegal aliens”. So, blame the slimy politiciams on all levels and hold those bastards accountable. Thanks to our elected officials, there are so many illegals in the USA that there are simply not enough “Feds” working for the entire government to arrest them all. Who’s to blame for that? Easy answer, the lousy, low-life, sell-out, power-mad, unethical, sanctimonious, rude and nasty politicians who we refer to (incredibly) as “public servants.” You wonder why the “Feds” can’t enforce the laws of the land? Ask those scumbags. So, cast your stones at the glass houses of the low-life politicians for a change. Geeze.

  4. 2. Yeah, accidents happen and we are picking on the poor widdle illegals. Statistical and anecdotal evidence suggests that many of last year’s 42,636 road deaths involved illegal immigrants. They don’t say what the number is, but how would you feel if your own family were killed by an illegal?
