I was wondering why Alaska is thinking that Palin won by such a big amount when only 826 people voted for her as govenor. There are 627,000 people in Alaska. How is that the majority or a popular vote? That seems pretty pathetic to me. Why didn't anyone else vote? How is he popular then? That appears to be one hundred seventy-two hundred-thousandth (0.00172) of the population of Alaska. Can someone please explain your voting rights compared to the popluation is you think she is popular?

Alaska is an absolutely beautiful state. I find the people there to be so wonderful. I think Sarah Palin will make a wonderful Vice President and we appreciate Alaska sharing her with us.

Too bad the media has smeared her so much. She has handled it with grace and laughter - again showing that she has the class act unlike her opponents to be a true leader and visionary for these Great United States.

The person who complained about Sarah Palin did not even check her facts. Sarah Palin never banned any books.

In fact, the author had not even written the books yet.

In general, Nancy Pelosi has a 11% approval rating and went on a 4 week vacation without addressing a comprehensive energy plan, shows to me.

We need Sarah Palin in Washington to stop such abusive practices by these types of people.

One thing Nancy Pelosi shares in common with Sarah is that they are both mothers of 5 children. The Democrats have not slimed Nancy Pelosi even though she has 5 children.

I have watched happily the interviews on Fox News and feel that the entire Sarah Palin family is absolutely wonderful and fabulous. She is such a pleasant person and one truly worthy of becoming the next Vice President of these United States.

Alaskans - Thanks for sharing her with us.

Sarah Palin is an experienced executive with an excellent comprehensive energy plan that will not only benefit all Alaskans, but also benefit everyone in the United States. She has shown she can and will work on important issues and work with both Democrats and Republicans. Mr. Obama, who she is not running against, could learn a lot from this wonderful lady. She knows education having been a PTA leader. She knows American citizens. Mr. Obama on the other hand only knows how to slime her without even trying to be nice. Sarah is fantastic.

DRJ: UPDATE 9/8/2008: FactCheck.org labels several claims in Anne Kilkenny’s letter as FALSE. End of UPDATE.

Just to be accurate (and not taking sides on the tit-for-tat), FactCheck is NOW saying: "Correction: In our original story, we incorrectly said that a few of the claims we examine here were included in the e-mail by Kilkenny. Only one of the claims – about the librarian's firing – was similar to an item in that e-mail. We regret the error."

Well, when you're on trial for lurking with intent to skulk, just hope that your jurors take their duty more seriously than you do.

I was called twice to jury duty, and both were personal injury/liability cases, and also were on their third go - around in the court system. When I first heard the details of the cases, I immediately thought BS - trolling for dollars by indigent defendants. And I told the defense attorney just that - excused.

Not satire at all, but very accurate advice.
I used a variation of that, though it did still cost me two days of time in the jury pool (stayed civil, no contempt).
I objected to the item in the questionaire asserting that the Judge was the absolute authority on matters of Law. Brought up The Crown v Peter Zenger (1735) - the judge didn't like that and I was excused by the State.
Assertion of Jury Nulification does work, at least in the New People's Republik of Kallifornia.
