Pellicano: Sometimes Bloggers Just Need a Good Beating

Private eye Paul Barresi, who worked with Anthony Pellicano, is interviewed by Fishbowl L.A. (FBLA). One of the topics: their shared, uh, disdain for bloggers:

FBLA: Did you [and Pellicano] share any of the same common beliefs or opinions?

BARRESI: Oh, yes, several.

FBLA: What’s the first that comes to mind?

BARRESI: Well, we both loath cyber stalkers. You know who I’m talking about. Those malicious psychopaths who take pleasure in harming others. They harass and attack people with mean spirited blog postings. They hide behind various screen names, being the cowards that they are. It gives them a false sense of safety, hiding in the shadows, like a frightened rat.

FBLA: Did you ever take action against any of them?

BARRESI: I remember one guy in particular. Tony [Pellicano] and me had a long conversation about him. Tony said he deserved a good beating. But in the end, he was dealt with the legal way — in the courts.

No wonder they were so fond of Pellicano over at the L.A. Times . . .

  1. Sheesh. If I were watching this movie, I’d change the channel because it’s so over the top. People shouldn’t be this evil. Something deeply sick has infected these people, and sadly, it has left a mark on newspapers and leaders.

A person is not a coward for using a screen name to protest psychos like these guys. Just smart.

That’s a nice blog you’ve got there. It would be a shame if something happened to it.

Yeah! Instedda guys like Tony, a malicious psychopathic stalker who harasses people physically.

THIS may be the worst case of projection I have ever read.

  7. Yeah, those dirty rats who say mean things on-line are much worse than corrupt gumshoes who leave dead cats on girl’s doorsteps. Let’s keep some perspective here, people!

You really can’t expect hot-shot LA heavyweights to go easy on a female reporter who’s bent on exposing criminal misconduct, just because she works for a newspaper. Duh!

Crooks have a right to defend themselves too, ya know. And, don’t forget, we ARE watching and listening to you.

Well duh. It’s an open secret that when all else fails and the MSM is on its official deathbed, some of its last desperate clutches for life will manifest via SLAPP suit-style harassment. Doesn’t anybody remember AP’s empty threats from a few months ago?
