Once upon a time liberals were open to new ideas and concepts, not bound by onerous conviction and pc dogma, or silly fairy tales. They didn’t follow false phropets, or march in parades led by charlatans. They respected the opinions of others and sought common ground, they didn’t insist it had to be their way, or no way at all. Liberals didn’t call names, or make-up phony excuses for their own greedy shortcomings.

It may be difficult to understand, but liberals were once considered respectable citizens and patriotic Americans. But, that’s no longer the case, and our country suffers because of it.

It’s named after some rocker who suggested liberals do that on conservative sites a couple years ago.

if you’re saying it’s good that I was non-plussed in something, I take that as you having a problem with me.

But, since I am in a particularly expansive mood today because it is an absolutely gorgeous day where I am, and because you have afforded me the first good guffaw I’ve had in a week, I will restate with smaller words.

Recapping the relevant portion of the thread at hand…Ropelight posts a humorous comment…to which you, apparently at a nonplus (perhaps confused, befuddled, unsure what is meant by Ropelight’s humor) respond “I still can’t tell if Ropelight’s a Moby or not.” When Ropelight expresses bewilderment of (his/her) own, asking if being a Moby is a good thing; I chime in thus: “Ropelight~no, it ain’t good.” Further, since there doesn’t appear to be any malice in your comment~I merely note that you didn’t seem to “get” his joke~ “But the good news is, I think Anon was just nonplussed by your humor.” rather than letting him think that you were capriciously insulting.

But instead of letting it pass, or looking up a word you didn’t understand…you fly off the handle and invite me to bite you, casting aspersions on my honor, integrity and courage at the same time.

So I reacted like any good ol’ Bulldog or Grayhound would: I bit you.

And that wasn’t enough for you…you respond again with baseless insults; this time accusing me of using the anonymity of the internet to aggrandize myself because of sexual deficiencies that you impute on my part. First of all, as I have explained elsewhere about and around the internet~ EW1(SG) is a unique military title that is mine by virtue of several honorably discharged enlistments in a couple of the uniformed Naval services of the United States (of which there are four). I do know of one other submarine qualified EW1, but he is an SS since he qualified while he was a crypto tech rather than an EW. And I know one other sailor qualified to wear dolphins and a Coast Guard Cutterman insignia, but he was an officer, not an enlisted man, and his submarine designator was also SS.

So in all the history of naval warfare, I am the one, the only, the EW1(SG). And there will never be another, since the Navy has retired that rating.

Sorry, SPQR, but I still prefer the second one: when you’re in a flame war with someone, stick with tossing sophomoric insults at each other and don’t attempt civility or say “I might be wrong”, it will only come back to bite you – unfortunately I’m not the best adherent to it.

If I’m wrong on that, my bad, but given your reaction to me merely saying “bite me” I don’t think I hit too far off the mark.
