I don’t think there should be criminal prosecutions in this case based on what I know, but for those familiar with the law is the premise of the AG’s decision here actually correct? Violations of civil service laws can’t be referred to criminal prosecution? How do you enforce them then, purely through demotions or terminations?

The hiring scandal was a lame attempt to get a few non-lefty folks in DoJ. Nobody was complaining when Clinton’s people filled it with their partisans, the same people who pursued the Plame case with such ardor and let Sandy Burglar off with a wet kiss.
