It’s Friday Afternoon

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 3:06 pm

And we all know that when (not if) Obama rejects public financing, he’ll announce it on a Friday afternoon. Unless he does it on the day before the Fourth of July.

Will this be the one? Or will he wait?

  1. If ever the Obama Campaign wanted to get some potentially damaging info behind it, this would be the perfect day – it would be completely subsumed by the death of Tim Russert, which will dominate the MSM for the entire week-end.

  2. I was just reading a story where Obama will justify his opting out as a response to McCain’s absence of “calling off” 527 groups, as Obama has done.

    .

Whenever the candidates opt-out (and both will) isn’t all that important, I don’t think. The “news cycle” on the opt-out will be pretty long, as the lead up to that event has been going on for months. I don’t think there is an effective way to bury the attention.

  3. Who cares?

How does this hurt any of us? How is this bad for America? I’m ready some more lengthy evidence-less dissertations on how bad Obama’s judgment is going to be if he’s the President…

  4. *sigh* The lpoint of a politician who claims to be “different” blatantly lying to us and then telling us he didn’t say what we have public record of him saying doesn’t concern Levi at all…

    Why am I not surprised?

What concerns me is that this ‘lie,’ which is meaningless and insignificant in every way sets you conservatives all atwitter, while George Bush can get away with misleading the country into a war that results in thousands of dead peopleand billions of lost dollars, and you goofballs refuse to admit he lied to your faces.

Which is baloney, of course. McCain asked Sen. Obama several times to call off his minions when they smeared him by taking the “100 years” comment out of context.

Obama refused. In fact, Obama himself has used that comment out of context to attack McCain. So Sen. McCain said forget it, he isn’t going to police the 527s.

  7. Levi, what exactly did Pres. Bush say that constitutes a “lie”?

Just give me three airtight examples, with evidence (in the form of hyperlinks) showing:
    (a) what Bush said
    (b) when Bush said it
    (c) why it’s false; and
    (d) why Bush Knew it was false when he said it

  8. Levi is right. Who cares? Barack Uses-His-Tongue-Prettier-Than-A-Twenty-Dollar-Whore Obama has a following who will be swayed only by how much he continues to make their secondary sexual characteristics sweat.

  9. Levi, what exactly did Pres. Bush say that constitutes a “lie”?

If you even have to ask this question, you’re incapable of being convinced.

I see the rest of your post, but I haven’t got the time right now, and if I feel like engaging in something that I know will be wholly fruitless maybe I will revisit your little test.

But again, the very fact that it isn’t obvious to you that Bush and his administration lied to us all about virtually every detail of the Iraq war speaks to the effectiveness of their propaganda and the blind faith that their supporters infect American political discourse with. Obama changing his mind about public financing is a massive, campaign-ending ‘lie’ to you, Bush getting thousands of people killed for no good reason is a feather in his cap.

You’re a joke, pal. You can’t comprehend why people don’t love you Republicans anymore, so you attribute it to the collective gayness of millions of people.

Maybe you should re-examine what’s wrong with your party before you start ridiculing others’?

  11. #7 Levi is right about Bush being a lying sack of spit. He saw the title of a far left book and could tell without reading it that it told the truth about Bush lies. Plenty of facts for you persuse DU, Kos and Huff.
Of course the Clinton administration, many dem pols, most all European intelligence agencies also lied because they too claimed Iraq had WMD. Just google it. Oh and so did the CIA and various sundry US agencies. Except now the dems are saying Dubya cherry picked CIA facts to support his cause. Nevermind that there was enough reason to invade because Hussein violated all sorts of sanctions post first Gulf war and thumbed his nose at an endless list of UN resolutions. I’m also happy to see that Levi is down with US troops still being in Bosnia, even though Clinton said they’d be out y Xmas. I guess he meant Xmas of the next century?

Don’t forget Bush also stole the 2000 election and had Diebold steal Ohio votes from Lurch plus brought on the katrina shambles trying to kill innocent blacks. And the Rather/Mary mapes TANG story was also true despite scum like powerline and littlegreenfootballs throwing up some lame smokescreens about IBM typefaces. What is the frequency, Levi?
BTw, the moonbat truth squad reveals oodles of little known facts on the weblogs. Such as McCain starved his daughter to death and replaced her with a fake daughter and McCain even killed Vince Foster while Rupert Murdock held Vince’s arms. It must be true if a far left whackjob claims it to be so.

Hoping that Urkel picks a worthy Veep such as Kuchinich or my own homeboy Bobby Wexler.

  12. btw, supposedly Tim Russert’s last guests will be veep prospects Joe Biden and Lindsey Graham. Very nice- four mediocre senators on the tickets to push America toward the Road to perdition. Say it ain’t so.

Why does Urkel need so much money when he gets so much freebie propaganda from the unbiased press hankering to be closer to his groin or sphincter? They love the smell of fresh skid marks on obambi’s skivvies in the morning, eh?

  13. Levi might have the worst case of BDS I have seen on the innertubes.

  14. I’ll grant you this, Levi, you have the tongue of a twenty dollar whore, too. You make people want to respond to your comments. For example:

Your comment: you attribute it to the collective gayness of millions of people.

My response: What’s gay about wanting to have sex with Barack Is-It-A-Boy-Or-Is-It-A-Girl Obama?

  15. how many people complaining about obama breaking his promise would have voted for him if only he had kept it?

  16. ada asked:

how many people complaining about obama breaking his promise would have voted for him if only he had kept it?

    Four . . . maybe.

Of course, the point isn’t to get people who will vote anyway to vote against him, but to get the disgruntled Republicans out thate who don’t want to vote for John McCain to realize that this isn’t an election in which it really doesn’t matter who wins.

    Dana R Pico (556f76)

  17. The second point would be to persuade some of the people who were going to vote onl;y because the Obamessiah is running for president to just stay home.

    Dana R Pico (556f76)

  18. Urkel. Someone should post some side-by-sides ( ! )

Maybe I missed the explanation, but is The Bammer going to pay for Hillary’s big adventure ? Wouldn’t his collective minions resent that ?

  19. Doh!

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said Thursday he’ll bypass the federal public financing system in the general election, abandoning an earlier commitment to take the money if his Republican rival did as well.

Obama, who set records raising money in the primary election, will forgo more than $84 million that would have been available to him in the general election. He would be the first candidate to do so since Congress passed 1970s post-Watergate campaign finance laws. Sen. John McCain, the Republican nominee in waiting, has taken steps to accept the public funds in the general election

  20. In actual fact, Barack An-Oral-Promise-Isn’t-Worth-The-Paper-It’s-Written-On Obama will be accepting public financing, but Chicago-style not federal style. The Machine will be putting the squeeze on every hog rooting, or hoping to root, in the public trough, to contribute to his campaign.
