Tony Snow Joins CNN

CNN announced that Tony Snow will join the network Monday as a conservative commentator:

“Former White House press secretary Tony Snow will join CNN as a conservative commentator beginning Monday.

CNN president Jon Klein announced that Snow, a long-time political observer with a longstanding news background, will contribute to CNN as the network continues to broadcast winning political coverage.”

The first comment for this story at CNN’s website was from someone named Bill:

“Oh my God! This explains why CNN has become so conservative and pro-Hillary lately.”

  1. Unassailable proof that CNN is the leader of the right wing main stream media.

  2. Conservative and pro-Hillary. You can’t learn confusion like that, you have to be born with it. Like they say, you can’t coach speed.

  3. This is as good a place as any to throw these jokes at you.

At least two of the three are pretty ontopic, I believe.

  4. Conservatives can only hope that Tony can bring to CNN, the same high-level of journalism he displayed in the creation of the FoxNewsSunday program @ Fox.
    They desperately need it.
But, the cynic that I am doesn’t believe it will do any good.

  5. He’ll probably be on at 4:00 a.m. knowing that network.

  6. What’s bad is, I can’t tell if Bill is joking or if the person is serious…

  7. Good jokes, Kishnevi. Is he really a priest?

  8. Quite so. Church of England pastoring (at the moment at least) in Newcastle on Tyne. History of mental illness–I don’t know the details–but that’s where he gots his sobriquet.

If you go through his blog you’ll find extremely lefty politics, a focus on support of gay clergy and marriage in the context of the Anglican Communion, and a whole bunch of good jokes–which last is the reason I linger there.

  9. After the vicious comments from the left directed at Tony Snow when he was undergoing cancer treatments, I expect nothing but more of the same.

Now with a forum for his conservative view to be heard, its like a big fat invitation for attack. Thankfully, he has gone through far worse and proven he’s no wilting flower in the face of hate. He can take what comes his way and will no doubt remain a gentelman.

I may now have to look up what channel CNN is actually on.

  10. Heh…. I’m gonna have to re-add it to my list of channels… I removed it some time ago…

  11. I expect on the whole, the reaction from the posters from the left will bolster arguments that Liberalism is a mental illness.

  12. Seeing Tony back at work – even at CNN – was good news to me. It meant that he’d gained back some strength and health.
I’ve always liked him; calm, unflappable, and smart.

  13. This ought to drive them all to MSNBC

  14. Yeah MSNBC–the last refuge of the seriously challenged folk; they’ll love getting their daily dose of Olberman. But it’s good to see that CNN at least recognizes quality once in a while and goes out and buys it.

  15. Hmmm…would CNN care to list who their “liberal commentators” are? Or are they just “commentators”?

  16. You mean the COMMUNISTS NEWS NETWORK acuialy allows conservatives? WELL IM STILL NOT WATCHING IT

  17. CNN isn’t that bad. They’ve improved, at least somewhat, and while they are biased, they seem to want to do their best and improve, for example by hiring Snow. MSNBC is nakedly biased effort that comes across as unintelligent. CNN can be informative.

FOXnews is nearly unwatchable, for me. But anyone who gets their news from a television is living in the past.

  18. Why would he have anything to do with the COMMUNISTS NEWS NETWORK?
