Ok, maybe this will meet your stringent criteria. You made your ignorant comment about how the blog should be run, your opinion I’m sure has been noted, you’ve proven yourself incapable of reasoning, so unless you’ve got something more to do here than spend time “simply complaining”, go “do something” and visit YouTube.

Unfortunately, this site has had influence over the LAT to an extent because they swim in the same sea. The online readers that the LAT wants might be swayed by reading this site. However, there are basically two and a half groups to whom the LACC responds: Westside RE developers, IllegalAliens and, for the half, “liberals” such as those who live in the TomLaBonge and EricGarcetti districts. None of those read this site and almost none of them will have heard of it. This site has no sway over those who are important to the LACC.

Regarding whatever the rest you wrote, I’ve posted thousands of entries about this wider topic, and in many of those I encourage people to do things. For a recent example, see this:

Note that that entry got 31 replies, but the posts referred to show almost no contrary replies except those from me.

Likewise, this site can post things like this all day long (and occasionally has), but if they don’t encourage people to actually do something about it nothing will happen.

Wow. That is some of the poorest reasoning I’ve seen in a while. Let’s look at this…

While this site has had some impact on the LAT, somehow I don’t think it’s going to have any impact on the City Council.

You acknowledge that this site has impacted a business by making people aware of problems, but you don’t think that will work with a local government council? Politicians are somehow immune when damaging information is disseminated about their activities? Doesn’t make sense to me. There’s no reason to assume that any efforts here are futile just because it’s local government and not local business. Besides, I’m sure the LAT ranks itself higher than the City Council, so it should be like shooting ducks in a barrel.

If this site wants to do something beyond simply complaining, encourage people to discredit political leaders over this or related issues.

Calling it “simply complaining” is specious at best. Any attempt to draw attention to flaws in leadership, government, or anything else could be dismissed (and usually is by liberals) as “simply complaining”. Why do you believe that you have to discredit people to fix problems? Isn’t it easier to convince them that it’s in their best interest to fix them before they have consequences? Again, politics of personal destruction are more a progressive tactic than what conservatives are supposed to represent.

No, the goal is to fix the problem. If you have to impact their careers to do it, that’s called a tactic. That particular tactic should be the last resort. Holding them accountable and making them fix their own mess is much preferred.

That’s actually not so difficult: find something they lied about, and call them on it on video and then upload the exchange to Youtube.

How is making an online video better than writing an online article? It’s just a different audience. Besides, that’s the politics of personal destruction again… it’s unwise to sink to their level.

Or, point out, once again on video, how they aren’t thinking things through. No one knows who Garcetti is, so concentrate on Villar, Arnold, etc.

The YouTube thing again. That’s not the audience here, is it? Do you see a lot of YouTube videos embedded at Patterico’s? Hot Air uses them a lot… here, not so much. Maybe you can suggest it to AllahP.

Writing articles and encouraging discussions about problems is doing something. What it’s not doing is “simply complaining” about the way a blog is run when that blog has been doing just fine thankyouverymuch.
