The 2008 NCAA Basketball Final Four is set. Memphis and Kansas joined UCLA and North Carolina, and it will be all-No 1 seeds at the Final Four. In today’s games, Memphis dominated the Texas Longhorns, winning 85-67, while Kansas squeaked by a valiant Davidson squad 59-57.

The Final Four begins Saturday, April 5, at the Alamodome in San Antonio. UCLA will face Memphis and North Carolina takes on Kansas. The winners of each game will play in the final Monday, April 7.

  1. Kansas should thank their lucky stars. They held Davidson to 38% shooting on the floor and 41% from the line, and still only won by a deuce.

Kansas and UNC, eh? Think Roy Williams’ coaching career will be a hot topic?

  2. More than that luck, it is the luck that someone on the Davidson team/sideline forgot that the score was only “down by 2” instead of “3” and all they had to do was attack the middle….

    Either a foul, a lay-up, or a kick out for the three….

It was a shame, because even though it would have ruined my bracket, I love the underdog….

  3. Ugh. I wanted to cry.

  4. While this is a landmark tournament in that the top seeds ended up making the Final Four, what stinks is that every doofus who doesn’t know squat about basketball that just chose the top seeds throughout the regionals still has viable brackets.

It was thrilling in 2006 watching George Mason render every bracket on the planet null and void. I was hoping Davidson would do the same.
