More Patent Absurdity

I remain convinced that the U.S. Patent Bar remains one of the most corrupt anti-market, freedom-suffocating institutions of our legal system. This development only confirms my beliefs.

A perfect storm for my regular topics of outrage: A blogger publicly calls out a patent troll and ends up getting sued for defamation in order to try to shut him up since the troll knows that he can’t actually rely on patent laws to help him with his delusional claims.

  1. I can tell you’re angry. Belief is spelled wrong as is delusional.

I am normally not a spelling Nazi but I though you might want to get a fix in.

  2. Just for the record, those patent attorneys are from East Texas. East Texas is like a whole other country.

  3. Good post and I really like the title.

  4. I agree, great title, great post. To be fair chad, when I get worked up over a topic there is sometimes a “spellcheck off” button I must be hitting.

Belief is spelled wrong as is delusional.

Of course, making grammatical mistakes when correcting someone else’s spelling errors… priceless! (j/k btw, couldn’t resist)

  5. RACIST. Stash, must you display your misogynistic racist bigotry everywhere you go?

  6. Has the original post been half-corrected, then? Cuz the spelling of “delusional” looks fine to me.

Stashiu3 … I’m usually pretty good w/my grammar … tho you couldn’t tell from my typing, sigh … but what’s wrong with using the “as is” construction? No preceding comma to eliminate ambiguity?

  7. JD, I must.

ras, exactly… makes it indeterminate. My grammar is hit and miss most of the time. I end up retyping a lot of what I write because of it. If I sent every comment the way I first wrote it, nobody would understand me. As it is, I am happy with the 40-50% coherency rate I currently stumble along with.

That’s why I only correct someone else’s grammar in jest (unless it’s a troll of course, then I’ll pick it apart for the sheer joy!)

  8. I don’t think that is a hard and fast rule. Even if it is I wasn’t trying to be a dick about the spelling.
