Missed It, you’ve missed it. McCain has voted to confirm every Supreme Court nominee–including Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer.

The concern over judges is very well founded actually. Do you think he would appoint a judge who would vote to overturn McCain Feingold? He’s so proud of it he writes amicus briefs on its behalf. And the type of judges conservatives want are just the type to overturn that. John would nominate another Kennedy or Souter or O’Connor. Thats only marginally better than a Clinton appointee.

Every single time a conservative judge has come up for congressional approval, John McCain voted to confirm . . . EVERY SINGLR TIME. What the hell does it matter what he MIGHT HAVE said? He voted to confirm Alito! He is — and has ALWAYS been — pro-life. The concern over what type of judges he will appoint is completely unfounded.

Candidates averaging four hours sleep will cough up head-shaker hairballs, routinely. The Fund/Novak exposé has the gravity of Romney’s geographical bollix this week:

“Our jobs are being sought by new competitors, countries like Asia and India.”

McCain enjoys being thought of as “good copy.” It got him this far.

fwiw, McCain has always reminded me of something Abraham Lincoln said:

Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power.

It might even be more accurate to say that a man has two characters, one under adversity and one with power. Hopefully they’re both good, but as Mr Lincoln understood, it’s more often the latter that’s found wanting.

McCain would be more likely to fill a vacancy on the left than the right, given Stevens’ age and Ginsberg’s health. He wouldn’t manifestly alter the Court’s ideological balance - especially if he serves one term and runs with a conservative heir apparent.
