Insult to Injury: Houston Chronicle can’t Spell Giuliani

I can’t figure out how to capture the image but the Houston Chronicle, hometown newspaper to Rudy Giuliani’s law firm Bracewell & Giuliani, still can’t spell his name:

“Front page

McCain, Clinton win Florida; Giuliana likely to drop out

By DAVID ESPO and LIZ SIDOTI
Associated Press”

How quickly the mighty fall into obscurity.

  1. 1:20 AM EST and it looks like the Chronicle corrected the spelling, but it’s still cached here … for now.

  2. Do you think that the authors, DAVID ESPO and LIZ SIDOTI did that on purpose, perhaps?

  3. No, it was spelled correctly in the body of the article. It was only misspelled in the headline and I assume the Chronicle staff added that.

  4. That is pretty funny that The Houston Chronicle misspelled Rudy’s surname on the front page, but like Alexander Pope says, “To err is human.” I think that there is too much ado about every error people make nowadays. Yes, Obama snubbed Hillary. Yes, Obama tried to cloud the fact with his weird tea leaf comment. (Orange pekoe, jasmine?) Look at President Clinton. The guy can’t even score with a willing heifer without an impeachment attempt, but JFK was having his way with Marilyn Monroe and even got to pass her off to his Attorney General brother and got a free pass from the Media. I guess the competition for stories is greater now so the “media spotlight” is burning as bright as a white supergiant of a star. It would be nice, though, if some perspective was included in the story.

  5. McCain, Obama and Clinton have resided over the worst Congress in the history of the United States yet here they are, the frontrunners in the race for the White House.

  6. Whew! Bye, bye Giuliani. Now I can relax. I’ll be voting in the Democratic Primary next week because I want to support some local candidates. I think I’ll be casting a vote for Hillary, as well, just to make my daughter happy and annoy Mayor Daley.

  7. Honestly, folks, what could you expect from journalists like DENISE ESPA and LARRY SUDUKO?

I think that people should start dropping postcards to those two, addressed to humorous variations of their names. Why? The first casualty of ideology is always a sense of humor, and I doubt either of them have much of one!

  8. Rudi 2012!

His next wife will be tanned, rested and ready

  9. Is “Giuliana” meant to imply he’s a girly-man?
