L.A. Times Corrects Jena 6 Story
A correction in today’s Los Angeles Times:
“Jena Six”: An article in Friday’s California section about nooses found at Cal State Fullerton said that six black teenagers in Jena, La., who became known as the “Jena Six,” were arrested on suspicion of attacking a white student accused of hanging nooses from a tree. Three students in Jena were accused of hanging nooses; however, the student who was attacked was not among those accused of hanging them.
You first read about it here.

Too little, too late.

Why should it matter? He’s white, and therefore part of the oppressive, racist, honkyofascist regime. That’s guilt enough.

Good job, Patterico. Imagine what it might be like if you weren’t watching.

I still don’t see that the inclusion of the Jena 6 in the Cal State Fullerton story was for anything more than inflammatory reasons.

Wow – a reference to the old children’s book THE PHANTOM TOLLBOOTH. What CAN’T you find on this blog?

I have to commend the Cal State official who said, basically, thanks but no thanks, we don’t need the Justice Department here. It indicates he is willing to assume that it’s a hoax as much as a hate crime. Given recent history of campuses hoaxes/hate crimes, that seems eminently reasonable.

Good article in the Atlantic about Jena and its environment – pretty objective look in my opinion.
