Southwick Confirmed

Filed under: Judiciary — Patterico @ 8:31 pm

I haven’t really blogged about Leslie Southwick’s confirmation by the Senate. In the old days, when I had more time to blog, I would have railed about his unfair treatment at the hands of Democrats. But I never got around to it. In any event, I’m pleased to see that the right thing happened.

  1. What gets me is that the Democrats are so worked up about the 5th Circuit’s alleged right-wing tilt — so much so that they were prepared to block any judge that was right of center — and yet have nothing to say about the 9th Circuit being embarrassingly liberal.

  2. Just part of their “We are always correct, anyone who disagrees with us either doesn’t understand, or is evil.” worldview, Kevin.

  3. Talk about embarrassments — McConnell denying that he or his office had anything to do with the sliming of the 12-year-old supporter of SCHIP, while his head of staff lies and then “corrects” the email memo sliming the kid and his family.

Makes it hurt all the worse that the Dems have squandored the mandate of the 2006 election. Reid and to a barely less extent Pelosi have been dismal failures, strategically inept, and have NOTHING of consequence to show for their leadership. How can two people be so wimpy and foolhardy at the same time? They have become caricatures, and neither of them has the charisma to orate their way out of a paper bag.

  4. Well, Nosh must be a our latest troll.
Perhaps he could find some meaning in his life if he just went out into the yard and ate some worms.
