Trust Beldar to get the scoop on this case. He says Craig is toast.

  1. I already posted this at Beldar’s but wadda:

  2. Can Craig subpoena anyone he wants at a Senate ethics hearing?

He obviously wants this very public hearing where he will have to face all of his accusers, which is interesting since he’d have to expect hundreds of gay men would be coming forth if he’s really a participant in public mens room gay sex orgies for 40 years.

  7. I kind of wish the judge would have allowed the plea to be withdrawn and then we could have seen a full-blown trial. I doubt if Congress is really interested in doing that.

  8. public hearings could backfire on craig – fer sure minneapolis wasn’t his first time, there must be an entire brigade of longhaul truckers and travelling salesmen whose man-meat he’s gobbled in the loo – here’s a guy, when the interstate highway system went through idaho when he was a teenager, he saw it as a boon, not for the roadway like most of us, but for the rest stops.

  9. ADA – i’ve no doubt there are plenty of men who could testify to encounters w/ Craig. But none will come forward. They engage in anonymous sex so they can remain just that. Plenty of men will come forward with stories of sexual encounters in bathrooms and such w/ Craig but all it takes is one slip-up and the whole case would be blown, so to speak!

Why? If Craig is as recklessly randy as we are supposed to believe he is, he’d have to expect thousands of gay Democrat types will be getting in line to admit their encounters. He seems to be willing to face this, not the behavior of a guilty man.

  11. thousands? prolly a bit of an exaggeration. if they are trolling restrooms for anonymous sex they very likely wont come forward. they would have to really really be hardcore dems to sacrifice themselves. but its not beyond the realm of possibilities.

But wouldn’t it be the expectation of Craig, if he was a men’s room orgy particpant, that some of them would show up to point the finger at him at his very public trial?

  13. Here’s the current Senate ethics committee roster:

    Democrats
    Barbara Boxer, California, Chairman
    Mark Pryor, Arkansas
    Ken Salazar, Colorado

    Republicans
    John Cornyn, Texas, Vice Chairman
    Pat Roberts, Kansas
    Johnny Isakson, Georgia

I doubt the Dems will do much, so who’s the Republican that’s gonna grill Craig?

  14. What? No wise cracks from the JanusIdiots, Paul and JD? Don’t you have a taste for this much-maligned cheese from the Limbaugher Region?

  15. I can’t imagine anyone admitting to having sex with Larry Craig — anymore than I can imagine anyone actually doing so. Have you had a good look at Larry Craig? George Clooney he’s not.
