Halo 3 Released Today
[Guest post by DRJ]
The Halo 3 release is a big event at my house. To help keep this in perspective, here is a sad story about a Chinese man who died of apparent exhaustion after 3 straight days of internet gaming. For those who aren’t addicted to gaming, there’s always cheese viewing. The cheese link is here.
Take your pick.

Time crawls today as I wait for work to end so I may go home and enjoy my Limited Edition copy of Halo 3…

It’s never been age with me. ‘ll play with anyone, no matter how young…
…
Ok, that sounded wrong…
What I mean to say is I’ve gamed with some great 14 or 15 year olds, and some HORRIBLE 26 year olds…
Age =/= maturity
Scott Jacobs (425810) — 9/25/2007 @ 11:08 amLet me know what you think. Our copy will be at college — and only used after all homework has been completed, I’m sure.
DRJ (ec59b5) — 9/25/2007 @ 11:14 amWhile there are definitely teenagers who are fine, my experience has been that the voice calling me a fag is usually a high-pitched one. To make matters worse they usually WTFOMGPWN me.
Moops (444e9b) — 9/25/2007 @ 11:25 amMoops, I hear ya. I hate that crap too. I have a short rant on that (and I tie it into female gamers, and how to act around them).
I’m all about the trash talking. I’m as vulgar as the next three people put together, and yeah, I taunt a little. Usually though I’m yelling obscenities when I die or get jumped, and I only use “boom headshot” in a softly spoken tone when I get lucky enough (speaking – as opposed to yelling – that line adds a bit of class, I think).
So I’m all for trash talking…
But when you’re using the three-letter F word, or the N word, or telling me how you eff’d my mom (or dad, it varies) and she (or he) loved it, you’re just being a moron.
Gamer tag’s AblativMeatshld, btw… I suck.
And DRJ… You just keep telling yourself that… Wanna wager as to whether the owner of the copy made it to class today? On whether class will be attended tomorrow? 🙂
Scott Jacobs (425810) — 9/25/2007 @ 11:31 amHeh, Scott. I’m confident about today because Amazon isn’t delivering until today or tomorrow. After that, no bet.

Sounds like your kid just got wtfbbqpwned… 🙂

I’m hoping mine works, as it is only a little scratched.
Schmoe (a8060f) — 9/25/2007 @ 12:27 pmScott,
I think we’re on the same page. Trash talk, ok. Obscenities, racism, not ok.
Gamertag Enkidu54. I’m no good either.
Schmoe, now I’m glad I didn’t spring for legendary. Hope yours works ok.
Moops (444e9b) — 9/25/2007 @ 12:39 pmMoops –
That’s the problem. Legendary is fine. Standard Edition is fine. The middle one, Limited Edition for $70 is the one screwed. Now I’m wishing I sprung for the legendary.
Schmoe (a8060f) — 9/25/2007 @ 12:42 pmHalo fanboys think they invented online FPS gaming. I was playing Quake and Doom in the mid-90’s on a dial-up modem.
And the guys you run across in Counterstrike are insanely good.
