The Devil Made Him Do It … Really.

Allegedly, Paul Devoe III killed a bartender, shot 4 Austin, Texas, residents in the head, and then fled cross-country to Pennsylvania where he killed another woman and stole her car so he could drive to his mother’s house in Long Island. His family suggests he might have a snake bite defense:

“Relatives of a man accused of killing six people in Texas and Pennsylvania apologized to their families today, said the suspect had psychological problems and suggested a rattlesnake bite may have set him off.

“We feel it’s a psychological stupor he was in,” an uncle, Ed Nelson, said outside court before a judge ordered Paul Devoe III extradited to Texas. “He couldn’t wake up from a bad dream.”
***
Nelson said his nephew was bitten by a rattlesnake just days before the killing spree began and suggested a reaction to the medication he was prescribed for the snake bite, along with alcohol, sparked some type of psychological condition that led to the killings.”

Doesn’t sound promising but we’ll see.

  1. Sounds good to me. The application of several rattlesnakes, without the antivenin this time, should cure the poor man of his condition.

  2. I was so afraid to keep reading lest I find out that Paul the Rattlesnake Man was not only a murdering idiot but an illegal alien one at that. Straight over the edge I would’ve gone.

  4. Chemerinsky will take the case. Except he’ll also sue the maker of the car Devoe was driving for causing the death of the PA woman.
