Why don't we adopt Mexico's immigration laws?

Has anyone seen the Mexican children crossing the border at El Paso to attend US schools? What the hell is wrong with this country?

Illegals should never have been allowed benefits beyond basic education of minor children anyway.
I could be persuaded that serves the public good,...

And why should minor children receive any benefits?

I would also submit that there is no such things as "the public good"

You can send a free FAX opposing the bills here:

numbersusa.com

Why the first bill mentioned above is wrong is illustrated here. If you want to stop the bills dead in their tracks, ask one of the presidential candidates those questions and then upload their responses.

The Immigration bill (or lack thereof) has become the gift that will keep on giving to both parties. No bill will ever pass and like abortion it becomes a unsolvable issue that each side panders to targeted groups to get their votes.

Dems will appeal to "kinder gentler policies for all with bennies" takes a village argument. While Repubs will stir up the "La Raza is coming, get the snipers in the towers" fearmongering.

Like abortion nothing will be solved for 30 years because most politicians know they will be dust by then and could care less.
And foolishly the citizenry will allow it to happen.

Illegals should never have been allowed benefits beyond basic education of minor children anyway.
I could be persuaded that serves the public good, and could also be persuaded to allow for pre natal benefits for soon to be citizen babies as the costs of care benefits far exceeds those of preemptive care... I think those babies should not be awarded citizenship in the first place, but no one asked me...

I'm generally pro hard working alien because I deal daily with a certain subset of illegal (construction in Southern Calif) and I tend to see rhe workplace as a meritocracy.
I can be easily convinced that a lot of people need to go home.
Zero tolerance for crimes above yawning misdemeanors is OK with me
I still wonder a kot about the economic impact on housing and construction in the Southwest markets, and here in CA I know that CA provides 50% of the USA's produce on less that 4% of its ag land... that productivity is driven by Mexican labor (mechanization is a red herring, the machines are driven by illegals too... if you doubt that, go up to Oxnard and ask around amongst the drivers in english on any strawberry farm)
