Is Hillary Clinton’s Campaign Blocking The DVD Release Of ‘The Path To 9/11’?

That is the question that the L.A. Times examines.

Naturally, you can decide for yourself. I do know this however – Studios absolutely rely on DVD and home video revenue to recoup their  investment in expensive productions. It is completely unheard of in this day and age for a television network to invest $40-million in a mini-series project, watch it garner multiple Emmy nominations, and then not slate it for a DVD release. Oliver Stone gets it too.

I still maintain that ‘The Path To 9/11’ is one of the best made-for-television productions ever made.

  1. Wouldn’t it make sense to release this for the 9/11 anniversary? If there’s one thing Hollywood does right, it’s marketing but this doesn’t make any sense from a marketing perspective.

  2. The amazing thing is that the thing doesn’t make Bush look all that good either — plenty of blame gets spread around. Methinks they dost protest too much.

  3. To paraphrase Glenn Reynolds, they told me that if a Republican administration was elected, there would be censorship in America.

  4. Is it really censorship if one of the biggest media companies in the world is trying to avoid offending Hillary, who is probably gonna be our next president?

I think it’s just good manners (and good business).

  5. If only Michael Moore and Brian de Palma was so well mannered. And the folks that brought us Loose Change.

  6. Maybe those media companies should use more good manners and good business sense and stop offending the actual President.

  7. Is it really censorship if one of the biggest media companies in the world is trying to avoid offending Hillary…

Curtailing speech in fear of Hillary’s response is censorship.

Alphie might have unknowingly produce a useful euphemism for Hillary’s censorship: “My opponents will practice “good manners” or else.”

  8. Self-censorship isn’t the same thing as censoship, PS.

    Just ask Larry Craig.

  9. Putting pressure on to avoid the release of the DVD would be par for the course for the Clintons when you consider the brouhaha over the original broadcast. Also remember the recent Inspector General report saying the Clinton Administration and the CIA didn’t have a plan for combatting terrorism. The two together make a pretty good argument for suppression.

  10. The Clintons are very prickly about the Clinton administration’s actions. Hilariously so. It will be among the main achilles heels of Hillary’s campaign.

  11. Wow, alphie, even for you that was an asinine statement.

  12. Isn’t it odd that the truth and honesty crowd cowers in the corner when the chips are down. You can always count on the Clinton’s to not be there when needed.

I wonder if the doormat will be any better?

  13. I feel a chill wind blowing across America if Hillary is elected. I suppose re-eduacation camps are next.

    This is double-plus ungood!

  14. So, tell me Alphie. Why would a media company have to have “good manners” to a potential Pres. Hillary? Would there be repercussions if they put out something she wouldn’t personally like?

And do you hold that media companies should have “good manners” to the current administration?

    Techie (c003f1)

  15. The last time the Clintonistas displayed good manners was at Waco. Cross them and you wind up like Ron Brown.

    Thomas Jackson (bf83e0)

  16. Oh, go ahead and hold it up.

Then release it about this time next year.

  17. Self-censorship isn’t the same thing as censorship

How would you know? I mean, considering the wild and thoughtless stuff you post, when have you ever self-censored?

  19. Release the thing. It’s not like anyone cares what Harvey Keitel thinks of The Man.

  20. I wanted the directors cut, there must be some good outtakes.

  21. If, indeed, the Clintons are responsible for the supression of this tv miniseries dvd release, The Path to 911, it is censorship. They tried to have the original broadcast blocked, but there are other sources of the same information…the Dick Morris book Because He Could for example. I have been trying to get a copy of this dvd since the miniseries first aired and have written to ABC to no avail. No answer to my inquiries. Even Rush Limbaugh has been strangely quiet about this miniseries, one that he promoted before it was shown on TV. ABC is missing out on profit dollars. The people are missing out on information and our country will be poorer because the relase of this movie has been quashed.
