It is beyond dispute that it became a “crime” and he a “criminal” when he plead guilty to the charge.

If Lavatory Larry was the innocent victim of entrapment surely he would have sought legal advice and representation.

No, but if you did that in the jurisdiction I worked you might have been raped repeatedly by some of my perspective clients. Then again, it’s only rape if you are unwilling. Either that or you would have been beaten within an inch of your life by an angry parent.

Another thing that we were seeing at the end of my career were these guys combining crystal meth & Viagra. Some suspects I interviewed admitted to as many as 10 anonymous sexual contacts in a day. Not surprisingly, the documented cases of HIV infection were also on the rise.

I’ll add a bit more here, when you work these kinds of crimes, you don’t just sit in a stall the entire time. You may stand at the urinal, wash your hands, comb your hair at the mirror, go in & out of the restroom. It just so happened the officer was in a stall when Craig started the dance.

On a number of occasions when my crew & I were working the beach restrooms, a uniformed officer inspected the restroom were were working. As we are a large department, the patrol officer did not recognize any of us. He exited, the shenanigans started all over & we made arrests within minutes. Having a uniformed officer inspect a location may be an effective deterrent for some types of criminal activity. However, for this problem I saw time & time again it was ineffective.

Those that claim thay have doubts about Craigs conduct seem to be focusing on just one of the many “cruisy” things Craig did.

I’ll focus on the foot touching for a minute. With you pants down seated in a stall does anyone really believe you can accidentally put your foot in someone else’s stall? Under these circumstances it can be nothing but a willful & deliberate act.

You add it to all the other things Craig did and there can be no doubt what he was up to unless you are a truly naive person.

Christoph, I was wondering if “flirting” with a woman by a man could be considered sexual harassment? If so, that is a crime. If flirting with a woman is a crime, wouldn’t flirting with a man be a crime?

I don’t buy it.

If a uniformed officer were to do frequent, unpredictable walk throughs of the bathroom that would certainly deter anyone from really getting it on in public in my opinion. Or, if one wanted to use undercovers, it seems to me that a plain clothed officer stationed in the bathroom so he could observe the behavior of every one would be a better use of cops than sitting in a stall.
