Is this what Educators mean by Zero Tolerance?

I have no sense of humor when it comes to wrapping cars or houses but I like a good football prank:

“A high school student who tricked football fans from a crosstown rival into holding up signs that together spelled out, “We Suck,” was suspended for the prank, students said.

Kyle Garchar, a senior at Hilliard Davidson High School in suburban Columbus, said he spent about 20 hours over three days plotting the trick, which was captured on video and posted on the video-sharing Web site YouTube. He said he was inspired by a similar prank pulled by Yale students in 2004, when Harvard fans were duped into holding up cards with the same message.”

Davidson area high school administrators gave Garchar and two accomplices “three days of in-school suspension and banned [them] from extracurricular activities for a semester”:

“We weren’t expecting it to be such a severe punishment,” said Jen Trimmer, 17, one of the students involved. “We just thought it was all in good fun.”

Here’s a You Tube link if you want to see the prank for yourself.

Deport the Criminals First (Guest Blogger Edition, Vol. 3): The Murder of William Huang

[“Deport the Criminals First” is a recurring feature on this blog, highlighting crimes committed by illegal immigrants — with a special focus on repeat offenders. I argue that, instead of arresting illegal immigrants who work hard for a living, we should use our limited immigration enforcement resources to target illegal immigrants who commit crimes in this country.]

I had hoped there would be no further additions to the Deport the Criminals First series during Patterico’s brief hiatus from blogging, but then I read about the Leon Andrade trial that just concluded in Houston.

My first thought when I saw this photo was “Please, Grow Up.”

It’s official: I’ve become a grumpy old conservative but at least I’m polite.
