We would be better off if Oswald hadn't shot anyone.

That being said, there will be a time in the not-too-distant future when Ted Kennedy passes from the scene. Brace yourself for an avalanche of encomiums from the MSM and other left-wing organizations.

I hope that someone has the courage to enumerate how this one man, in his lengthy career, has so damaged the fabric and civility of this nation.

I still wonder if his objectives represent naked partisanship or whether they are just an expression of the mindless liberalism that has always been his hallmark. Maybe both.

Jimmy Carter inflicted a lot of damage upon us in the 4 years of his presidency, and we are still cleaning up his mess.

Ted Kennedy, by contrast, will have had 50 years to do his dirty work. Will the nation survive long enough to fix his colossal mistakes?

Speaking of Ted -
Would we be arguably better off today if Oswald had shot Ted instead of Jack?

I went through this forced-busing stupidity throughout the 1970's. Know what? The schools I went to are now even MORE segregated, and are academic dead zones.

Billions of dollars wasted. Millions of tons of bus exhaust put in the atmosphere. And for what? Some imagined benefit gained from sitting near a kid with more skin pigment?

This was such a bad idea, that Ted Kennedy must have surely been involved.

"The smart money says that it will be 5-4 rejecting the race-based assignment plans, with Chief Justice Roberts writing for the majority. Anything else will come as a shock."

I agree that it will likely be 5-4 rejecting the race assignment plans. But why would you be shocked if it was someone besides Roberts writing for the majority, instead of say Scalia or Thomas?
