L.A. Weekly Does Some Great Stories

The L.A. Weekly does some great stories this week, many of which the publication broke for the first time, scooping the national newspaper we have here in town. For example, we have:

  1. Marroquin was good at stopping major violence before it occurred.

    So basically LA is paying a warlord to keep the casualties down.

    I love that LAW is writing these stories now, as Tony Villar begs for another billion dollars of our money from Washington for similar anti-gang programs.

  3. Now that the L.A. Weekly is once again owned by the anti-establishment libertraian leaning New Times Corp., they are back in great form. Much better than the straight-leftist owners that used to own them. I was always sad that the New Times lost out to the L.A. Weekly in the alternative press wars. I’d rather have them both. But I thought that if only one is viable in Los Angeles, the New Times was much better. Now its just like having the New Times back (only it happens to be called the L.A. Weekly on its masthead). Very satisfying.
