Too busy this morning to post. So I’ll play Atrios and open up a thread.

  1. [P]lay Atrios? Say it ain’t so, Patterico. Call it play Tom Maguire or something…

  2. I’m not quite sure what the difference if any is between “censure” and “non-confidence” votes. As I understand it, they’re both non-binding ways for the Senate to say we don’t like this guy. Apparently there is a (rather old) precedent for censuring an Attorney General for not adequately explaining an attorney firing:

In 1886, for instance, the Senate voted to censure President Grover Cleveland’s attorney general, A.H. Garland, because he did not provide documents about the firing of a federal prosecutor.

But anyway it also sounds like the Senate vote on AGAG isn’t going to happen for a while.

  3. How about doing a “rename the immigration bill” thread? For example, the Illegal Resident Rehabilitation Act.

  4. I never understood open threads. Who would post in an open thread?

  5. From this:

“If passed, this bill will make taxpayers pay the legal bills for illegal aliens seeking amnesty. Tucked away on page 317 is a provision that would allow lawyers in the federally-funded legal services program to represent illegal aliens, which they are presently barred from doing.”

A very effective way to stop amnesty at my name’s link.

  6. Here’s something I find interesting: This US News op-ed summarizing the costs and benefits of illegal immigration.

  7. “So I’ll play Atrios ….”

In that spirit … our hero Lieberman was one of the deeb-weasels who voted for cloture on the amnesty bill.

  9. Better yet – take a nice, leisuirely stroll across the port-a-pottys.

  10. Does Bush have ANY credibility left?

Today’s dog and pony show was a riot.

We invaded Iraq because al-Qaeda was building a cell from which to launch attacks against the US?

Come on… Even Duke Cunningham doesn’t believe that!
