Colbert Rips Into My Office

Don’t stone me, conservatives, but I think Stephen Colbert is pretty funny sometimes. And those who love to run down the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office might just agree with me after viewing this old chestnut from the Daily Show:

I got this video from another Deputy D.A. in my office and knew I had to have it. Right then.

  1. Colbert is funny. Conservatives can have a sense of humor even when it’s their ox being gored.

  2. Stone you?? Are you kidding? Colbert, next to Dennis Miller, is the smartest comedian on tv, and if you watch him enough, you find he’s fairly impartial with his jabs, unlike Stewart…whose tired Bush-hatred has long since ceased to be remotely funny, and whose audience simply isn’t capable of keeping up with Colbert’s level of irony anyway.

  3. That needs to be put on a welcome kiosk inside the front door of the DA’s office!

    Way the hell too funny!

  4. That’s funny as hell. Any truth to that “brain drain” allegation, Patterico?

  5. Colbert is very funny in limited doses. The “conservatives are stupid” schtick is too predictable and gets old quickly.

  6. i like Colbert, he puts out a good show, though I must agree, sometimes it gets old, but overall, very good.

  7. I am conservative and I find him funny as well I just won’t give comedy central my market share and watch him, I just wait until it’s out on the nets (hattip to the Prez). I would like to see him take his show elsewhere, won’t happen but I can dream.

  8. No stones from me. That was funny.

  9. My favorite Colbert moments are when he’s interviewing someone and he gives them, nice and slow, the most basic, honorable, simple question that a Republican talk-show host might possibly ask a Democrat guest… the sort of lob that says, “Okay, you’re in the public square, you MUST have a good answer to this one….” and they fumble horribly.

  10. Funny, to a point. I am “conservative” although what you mean may be different that what I mean. I read you daily and I generally go along with most of what you write. So, how’s that for “conservative” me to your “conservative” you.

  11. It’s hilarious. The man is very talented. There was no doubt in my mind that he was only joking and there was no malice intended to the LADA. There is ambiguity as to LA jurors which may be deserved.

  12. Interesting in light of the present Spector trial.
