HuffPo Commenters Call for Violence Against Rove

Once again, HuffPo commenters call for violence against Administration officials.

I just checked, and the comments in question are still up.

With every such instance, the HuffPo increasingly fits Glenn Greenwald’s criteria for meaningful hate speech.

One of the first comments called for him to be hauled out of his car and ‘water-boarded.’ The patriots at HuffPo are so offended by the (alleged) mistreatment of enemy combatants that it blinds them to the fact that Karl Rove is a political operative. A US citizen. Not a terrorist. Not captured on a battlefield. Not shooting at US troops. Not plotting to blow up a bridge or shopping mall.

    Not to mention, we are against the violent Bush crime family, so we wish upon them violence. Irony, hello.

  11. I’m looking at this sorry spectacle, and I am thinking about the impending collage college teacher strike.
    Do they really deserve a raise?
    Hufpo commenters don’t seem to recognize themselves as thugs. They call college republicans, “brownshirts”.
    Makes me wonder if the real 30’s era Nazis recognized what they had become?

  18. Actually, I don’t believe they DID call for King George III (was it the third? I so can’t recall). They wanted him to leave…

    I don’t recall a single line in the DoI along the lines of “kek!!!11!! PENIS!!!1!!!111! Gonna Burn KG down, baby!!! Hope he dies of ass-cancer and gets raped!!”

    And if it’s so acceptable to wish for your political enemies deaths, then you’ll certainly forgive my hoping you fall over and die RIGHT F***ING NOW!!

  20. The comments would be laughable if it were not for the historical facts. I do not recall any violence against Democratic organizations during the 2004 and 2006 election cycles. I do recall seeing on TV incidents of violence committed against Republican people and property.

    Activists in the Democratic Party have been driving this since the 2000 election and the words will turn to extreme violence.

  22. Great. In Petit Bourgeois’s mind the”Nair-for-men-with-facial-and-gay-houseboy” twittering limpwrists at HuffPo are the equivalent of the Founding Fathers. No, Petit Bourgeois. The HuffPo potty-mouthed sissy-boy types were the ones that got on ships, along with their powdered wigs, pomanders and “personal” slaves, and sailed back to England because their kind had no place in America. How they managed to get back is beyond me. We should have built those fences along the borders a long time ago.
