Liveblogging from the Toad the Wet Sprocket Concert

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 6:58 pm

In keeping with my penchant for live-blogging rock concerts, I should mention that I’m here front-row center at the Toad the Wet Sprocket concert in Santa Ana. Mrs. P. and I are hard-core concertgoers, generally arriving well before the door opens to secure the best place to stand. We’ll be on our feet for the next several hours, but having a good seat for the reunion of this amazing band is worth it.

Then it’s home to sleep for a couple of hours before my daughter and I jet off to Atlanta to meet my new nephew John Michael.

Posting will be lighter for a couple of weeks.

UPDATE: The concert was excellent. You can still catch them in L.A. on Monday.

  1. This the concert you mentioned when we discussed Phillips before? You’re welcome. 😉 Enjoy the big egotist … Chris Thile comes here next week, but he’s more “hosting” events at a bluegrassish fest than he is playing, so don’t know if I’ll wade through the crowd to try to see him.

  8. Sebastian — this is the second time they’ve toured together in the last couple of years. They’re each still pursuing their solo interests.

It may be the last time you can see them — or Glen Phillips — for a while, though, as Glen is moving to Europe for (at least) a year.

  9. Yeah, I didn’t know about that until Glen mentioned it in the concert.

  10. Welcome to Atlanta!

    I know J.M. He’s a great lil’ fella.

Knew he had connections, but didn’t know quite how well he was connected.

Maybe I’ll run into you while your on our end of town.

May your travels be safe and quick. Enjoy your stay!

    God bless!

  11. […] Glen Phillips has created a blog about his family’s year-long trip to Europe. You can read it here. (Glen Phillips is the lead singer of Toad the Wet Sprocket, for whom we were front row center in Santa Ana recently.) […]
