Seeing Raul

Captain Ed spots yet another anomaly in that doctored Reuters photograph.

UPDATE: On a serious note, Power Line has some questions about other Reuters photographs. It’s not looking good for Reuters.

  1. Amazing. I spent some time looking at blog posts about the first one yesterday. I honestly wasn’t very shocked although it shows surprising arrogance or laziness on the part of the editors involved.

This is different though. I’ve now seen at least 4 really obvious undeniable cases of photo fraud documented by bloggers. All of them show an anti-West bias. What they have done is allow themselves to become a propaganda organ for the Islamofacists. Why? I don’t know, but its undeniable that it has happened.

  2. Funny! I also like the Chris Muir cartoon.

I hope this movement to ‘out’ the fakery grows and grows. I now wonder about comments I read from anonymous sources, such as the one that angered Omar from Iraqthemodel, where a coalition source said they didn’t want to challenge al Sadr. This stringer also writes for radical sites; is it too far fetched to think he made up the quote?

  3. Not to mention this. (Warning: Self-promotion alert.)

Anybody seen the newest from our friend Hajj in the NYTimes? This one is so full of mistakes, I don’t know where to start, but judge for yourself and see if you agree with me.

    1. I’m sorry, but the guy on the stretcher looks like a cardboard cutout! His head is not resting on the “stretcher” and how is his weight being shown by those who are supposedly carrying him? Especially the hands in front…he’s carrying the stretcher with one hand? BS! I looked at the wall behind his hands and the stretcher is not resting on that either.

    2. The whole thing is as fake as hell! What they are carrying him on looks like paper and on which there is not even a fraction of the weight necessary to make this believable.

    3. Now look at the guy standing behind the “victim’s” head. He is not even looking at the victim, is WAY out of proportion to the victim…and if you look really closely you see that he has no legs…unless he’s straddling the wall to his left or something!!!

This one is TOAST as far as I’m concerned! Been a photographer for about 30 years and this is another sloppy fraud!!! Nice going Reuters, Hajj, Keller and the NYT! Doh!

PS kiddies, this was on the front page of the New Y(j)erk Times.

  5. Wow. Yeah. Those two photos at Power Line really showed some serious manipulation. I mean, that building, all blown to hell – it either got totally destroyed on the 24th of July or on the 5th of August, right?
That photo editor’s face is red, I betcha’.
And that poor shmoe on the stretcher at Free Republic: he’s totally faking. He’s obviously a cardboard cutout, shipped in overnight from the printers in Milan due to a severe shortage of civilian casualties. Good thing he looks appropriately distressed for propaganda purposes. It’s not like he’s just some guy who got hit while driving in his car desperately trying to get away from the bombs falling all around him, or anything.
Reuters’ really screwed the pooch with that one, for sure.
