This vein will be mined out when something substantive comes of the effort, such as the prosecution of whomever is responsible for leaking classified information to the press. It isn’t about how many newscycles conservatives can keep a liberal-damaging story on the best-seller list. It is about winning a war that America must win.

Victor Davis Hanson nails the problem with the two Times’, and others among us:

The problem is not that the majority of Americans have voiced doubts about the future of Iraq — arguments over self-interest and values happen in every long war when the battlefield does not daily bring back good news.

Isn’t everything that Bushco does illegal? So when the Supreme Court agrees with one point, then every other item on the list is obviously illegal too.

I honestly doubt that members of the media have the intelligence to understand why _Hamdan_ has nothing to do with the SWIFT program. Instead, emotions are, as usual, in pitched overdrive to compensate for the manifest lack of understanding about how the Constitution works.

I have no expectations about the education, intelligence, and professionalism of members of the mainstream media. None whatsoever. They might as well be Al Franken ranting for all the insight and intellectual sophistication they show.
