But Clarence Thomas Prefers Milwaukee’s Best
What do Chief Justice Roberts, Nino Scalia, and Sam Alito have in common — other than being right-wing reactionary Supreme Court Justices, that is?

That is vile.
The Angry Clam (a7c6b1) — 5/29/2006 @ 7:49 pmSchlitz is indeed vile.
Schiltz, apparently, is not.
Patterico (50c3cd) — 5/29/2006 @ 7:53 pmThe Mpls/St.Paul weekly CityPages notes Schlitz gave $1,000 to help elect Sen. Norm Coleman, who forwarded his name to the President for consideration.
Not quite in the same league as CIA whistleblower Mary McCarthy’s $5K donation to Ohio Dems, one imagines.

steve (f8c5a5) — 5/29/2006 @ 8:36 pmGood thing Schiltz didn’t give that money, or it would look *awfully* shady . . .
Patterico (50c3cd) — 5/29/2006 @ 8:55 pmhey patterico, how do you feel about today’s u.s. supreme court decision? the case came from right out of your office.
assistant devil's advocate (654381) — 5/30/2006 @ 9:37 amone of your colleagues, richard ceballos, suspected that a deputy sheriff had lied to get a search warrant. he wrote a memo to this effect, after which he was disciplined by his superiors (your superiors too). he sued under the whistleblower law.
by a 5-4 vote, the supreme court ruled that his whistleblowing was not protected speech under the law. both the newbies roberts and alito, whom you have heartily endorsed, were in the majority. the message of this ugly decision is crystal clear. the supreme court, your supreme court, has directed you not to be a servant of justice as your conscience views it in the light of the law. you are to be a fascist tool instead. it’s about convicting people, not about whether they’re guilty or innocent. are you happy with roberts and alito now?
Hey ADA, you might want to consider actually reading that case before commenting on it.
Xrlq (f52b4f) — 5/30/2006 @ 10:40 amDo you have any idea just how much respect I have just lost for Justices Roberts, Scalia, Alito and Thomas? Vile, vile stuff!
Dana (dd8e7e) — 5/30/2006 @ 6:31 pmSchiltz happens.
