Tim Blair has an interesting story about murderous fascists getting upset over cartoons — and people who take their complaints seriously. Worth a read.

  1. Good article. We need to remember that the purpose of editorial cartoons is not merely to entertain but to make us think, even if it infuriates some or makes others uncomfortable. I pray that these cartoons are not as prescient as Low’s.

  2. Thanks for linking to that article. I’m doing a post on the 70th anniversary of Hitler’s march into the Rhineland on March 7, 1936.

    Low’s cartoon in July 1936 was an early warning that sadly went unheeded:
