1. Well, the article you linked said:

   Salazar, who joined six other Democrats last May in pledging not to block votes on President George W. Bush’s judicial nominees except in “extraordinary circumstances,” said he doesn’t know whether he can support Alito to succeed retiring Justice Sandra Day O’Connor. He said he didn’t anticipate supporting any filibuster against Alito.

   I guess that we’ll see if his anticipation is as of as much value as his campaign promise.
