Aw man. I was thinking Alito was a good pick but now I see he wasn't on Harry Reid's list!

"That is not one of the names that I've suggested to the president," he [Reid] said. ''In fact, I've done the opposite. I think it would create a lot of problems."

NBC also going live with reports that its Alito.

I don't know much about him except what has been posted here. It seems like he's going to be toxic to Dems. My guess is they could try to block him if what I've read is true.

If so the battle would be joined. It is, however, a battle conservatives should be able to win. We have a majority in every branch of the federal government. Somehow I doubt he's more "extreme" than Ginsberg - and Pubs held their noses and voted for her.

What I'm getting to is it appears the White House got the message. It seems to understand that we wanted a highly qualified genuine conservative appointment. They're giving it to us. In effect they're saying; "OK. You want a high-end Con appointment? Fine, here he is. Let's see if you can do what it takes to help us get him confirmed."

The game's afoot.
